Chapter Five

23 BBY ONE YEARS BEFORE THE CLONE WARS

Thomas "Tom" Lasky and Sarah Palmer had been friends for as long as they could remember. Growing up in the same neighborhood, they had always dreamed of joining the military and serving their country.

So when they both decided to enlist, it was no surprise to anyone who knew them. They were excited to finally be able to make a difference and serve their fellow citizens.

Basic training was grueling, but they both managed to make it through. Thomas ended up joining the UNSC Navy and was assigned to the USS Washington, while Sarah joined the Marines and was sent to the marine Rapid Response Base at Reach, Earth's first colony outside of the Sol system.

As they hugged goodbye, both of them knew that this was just the beginning of their journey. They were determined to make a difference and serve with honor.

As Tom joined the crew of the Washington a Dreadnought-class heavy cruiser, one of the first warships owned and operated by the UNSC Navy. Tom became one of the best pilots in the crew as the Washington captain Preston Cole led Alpha Group One of the Anti-Piracy Task Force (APTF) against pirates who tried to raid Terran trade lanes. But with war between the Republic and the growing Separatist Alliance, Tom worried about Sarah, and the crew of the Washington if earth was bright into the war.

As Tom was setting down on the Washington and keeping in contact with Marine Second Lieutenant Sarah Palmer was sent to reach to command a marine platoon. Along with keeping up with Tom on the Washington, her platoon are sent on missions to routout smuggler and criminal hideouts to storm and eliminate the threat of criminals to earth. This brings Earth and her defender the United Nations Space Command or UNSC into conflict with the hutts clans but after humiliating defeats at the hands of the UNSC in the first four years of earth on the galactic stage the hutts just avoided earth space excerpts probes from the hutts clans into the earth space to see are reactionshion which the USS Washington and her group are assigned to take care of. For her and the marines under her command they repay the hutts in full with attacks on their shipping or raids on the bases.

22 BBY THE FIRST YEAR OF THE CLONE WARS

It was a dark time for the Galactic Republic. The Separatist Alliance, a group of separatist systems and their droid armies, had declared war on the Republic and the fighting had been raging on for years.

As the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic, Sheev Palpatine knew that they needed all the help they could get in order to defeat the Separatists and restore peace to the galaxy.

So, he set his sights on Earth, a planet that had always remained neutral in the conflicts of the galaxy. He knew that Earth had a strong military and a lot of resources that could be of great use to the Republic.

He sent a delegation to Earth to try and convince its leaders to join the war on the side of the Republic. The delegation met with the leaders of the major nations of Earth and presented their case.

They argued that the Separatists were a threat to the stability of the entire galaxy and that if Earth did not join the war and help defeat them, they too could become a target.

The leaders of Earth listened carefully to the delegation's arguments and asked many questions. They knew that joining the war would not be an easy decision and that it would come with its own set of risks and challenges.

After much discussion and debate, the leaders of Earth choose their neutrality over joining in with the republic in a war the leader of ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky says "you want us to join in to a war that is not ours, not to mention we are not equipped to fight."

Many in the republic like Jedi Knight Anakin skywalker raged at earth choose to remain out of the fighting with Anakin saying "don't they know the Separatists won't care, if earth has something they what, want count dooku wants they will just take it."

Many of the leaders of Earth understood the concerns of the Jedi and the Republic, but they also had to consider the well-being and safety of their own citizens. Joining the war would mean sending their soldiers to fight on distant planets and exposing their citizens to the dangers of the conflict.

Additionally, the leaders of Earth knew that their military was not fully equipped to fight in the kind of advanced, technologically advanced wars that were being fought in the galaxy. They feared that joining the war would only lead to more casualties and suffering for their people.

Ultimately, the leaders of Earth decided that it was in their best interest to remain neutral and focus on defending their own planet and its interests. They thanked the Republic for their offer and made it clear that they would be willing to provide assistance in other ways, such as through trade or humanitarian aid.

Despite their disappointment, the Republic respected the decision of the leaders of Earth and withdrew their delegation. The Clone Wars continued to rage on, with Earth remaining a neutral party in the conflict.
