THE END (OR IS IT?)

3 YEARS LATER

THE SNOW WAS so beautiful in the winter. That was one of the first things that (F/N) learned after she moved to Romania. She loved the cold breeze and the sights. Gosh, the sights. The tall, dark trees are covered in bright fluffy snow.

She heard footsteps approaching from behind her. They were uneven, the right heavier than the left foot, and random. Someone was obviously tired.

Familiar arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her figure closer to his warmth. "Good morning hun." His voice was deeper and held a rasp to it, the same one it always had in the mornings.

"Good morning." She hummed, leaning her head back to his chest.

"Why'd you leave the bed?" He asked, nuzzling his head into her neck.

Finally, she was released from his warm hold. She found herself cold as she motioned to the food on plates, "I wanted to surprise you with breakfast."

"Well..." Ethan's eyes scanned the food, and she could tell he was still waking up since it took a while for him to process, but eventually, he hummed, "Consider me surprised."

"Oh, good." (F/N) leaned her head back to his chest, her tired mind reveling in the comforting feeling that had gotten her through such a difficult time.

In the helicopter, she had learned of everything Ethan had done while she was knocked out in the boat. She had been found back by the dock like the water was trying to get her back to the Baker's home. It had been creepy to hear it from the soldiers who helped her.

Shortly after everyone was healthy, Ethan divorced Mia. After learning all of the truth and developing feelings for another person, Ethan simply couldn't do it anymore. Especially when he found out he didn't love Mia the same way he had so long ago.

During the entire lengthy process, (F/N) was by his side. About a year later, the two began to see each other.

Dates weren't necessary, but they had gone on plenty anyway. A year into the relationship, they tied the not.

"Are you okay?" Ethan's concerned voice broke her thoughts, making her look at him.

"Yeah," She nodded, looking down at her empty plate. She must have eaten while remembering, "just thinking."

"Does it hurt?" Ethan playfully quipped, placing his fork on his empty plate.

"Ethan," (F/N) gasped at his words, "you—!" She slapped his shoulder as a smile grew on her lips.

He grasped her hand before it could retract, placing a kiss on the back of her palm, "I'm joking, I'm joking."

"I was going to be nice to you." She gave him a pointed look, "You screwed that up, mister."

"I did not."

"Yes, you did."

He dramatically threw himself back in his chair, the weight of his body almost making the chair teeter back as he slapped his hand to his chest, "How could I ever do that?"

"I don't know." (F/N) hummed as she grabbed both of their plates and brought them to the sink.

He was back by her side within seconds, ten at most. He grabbed the plates from her hands, "I'll do it, hun. Then, I'll check on Rose after."

Rose was their newborn daughter. That's right, the two were fresh parents. Married and a baby in what had felt like a blink.

"Oh, trying to get me nice again, huh?" She gave him a suspicious look.

"You know it." Ethan's chuckle was heard echoing through the home.

"Well..." She considered for a moment before nodding, "It's working."

"We'll see how well it's working later." Ethan hummed.

She gasped dramatically, "You just woke up, you horndog."

Ethan gave her a telling grin as he turned around and wrapped his arms around her waist, "You know I can't help it, not with such a beautiful wife." He leaned forward and nuzzled her nose.

"You only tell me every day." (F/N) hugged him back gently.

He grinned, "I'd shout it from the rooftop."

"No one would hear you." Their house was secluded in the woods. It had been a bit concerning moving out to the middle of nowhere with extreme weather, but Chris insisted it was for the best.

"The Smith's might." Ethan reminded her of their neighbors who were about half a mile away.

"Right...Of course." (F/N) smiled adoringly before she hummed, "Don't you have a baby to check on?"

"Shit—Yup—Yes..!" Ethan rushed out as he sped walked away from the kitchen.

She looked around the wall as she scolded, "You better not curse in front of Rose."

"I would never." Ethan defended, and she knew he wouldn't.

She was disappointed that she practically entered the Baker's home and gained trauma for like practically for nothing, but at the same time, she wouldn't have met the love of her life if she hadn't. She also wouldn't have had Rose.

If she knew one thing, it was that Ethan was a great father, and she would happily spend the rest of her life with him.

AUTHORS NOTE !

The end! Sort of an
interpretive ending as to
whether or not RE8 would
happen (though it technically
would because they still
had a kid).
