part 5: purple and yellow flowers

I woke up from a nightmare. Where bulat died from a poisonous wound. Death was coming again. And falix is missing.

"What's wrong?" akame asked. As she was on my left while leone was on my right. Sleeping with a cat like smile.

"Nothing...just had a nightmare about falix..." i lied. It sucked lying to my girlfriend. But i have to if i want to change things. Akame than grabbed my head and looked me in the eyes.

"Don't lose hope auron...falix is alive. He'll come back. I know it." akame said as she kissed me on the lips. I couldn't help but smile. Never thought i'd be getting a talk about hope from someone who probably lost it after everything she's been through. "Now come on. It's time for breakfast." akame said as she got up. I rolled my eyes.

"Akame will be akame i guess." i said. I shook leone awake.

"Breakfast time kitty." i said. Leone gave me a kiss as well. And got up.

"See you there babe!" leone yelled with a wide smile. As both her and akame left the room. I got dressed and soon followed after.

"Death is coming for bulat...i wish you were here falix." i said as i closed the door.

Falix pov.

I woke up in a not so comfortable bed. Well i'm not in hell. So whoever was approaching me was not somebody who wanted me dead. As I got up. I heard a door open. And saw a guy around 30 to 40 with red hair enter the room.

"Good to see you awake. My name alex. What's yours?" alex asked.

"Falix...why did you help me out?" I asked.

"Do I need a reason to be a good person?" alex asked.

"No...the empire would probably laugh at you...but it's good to know good people still exist in a world where the scum are kings." I replied. I looked at picture on the table. And saw alex with a a woman with beautiful long black hair and a kid with red hair. "Is that your family?" i asked.

"Was...my wife died of an illness a couple of years ago. While my son went to the empire to get money so we could pay for food. But he never came back. His last note said that he found a good samaritan family that took him in." alex said. I had a feeling of dread.

"Was the daughter of this family named aria?" i asked.

"Yeah. how did you know?" he asked.

"...your son is dead." i replied.

"What? How are you sure!?" alex asked.

"I was almost one of their victims as well. That good samaritan family who take in people down on their luck in the empire? It was a facade. Their true faces were alot uglier. They were sadists who tortured and pumped people full of diseases and got their rocks off as their victims died slowly...your son was one of the people used as a torture doll by those freaks." i replied. Alex fell to his knees. And began to cry.

"Haruna...i'm sorry...i failed to protect our son....eric...how naive was that i think you'd be fine in that city of maniacs!?" alex said through his tears. I got on my knee.

"I don't know if this will give you any consolation. But the people who killed your son are now burning in hell...night raid saw to that. There are also the ones who saved me." i said. Alex clenched his fist.

"The empire would have us believe that night raid are nothing but a group of criminals. HA! This coming for the bastards who let my son be tortured by a family of sadists! Who left us out to starve and fend for ourselves? When the law favors scum. Then criminals are the true heroes." alex said with rage.
