As I raced along the highway, I felt as if a thirst was starting to be satisfied. I was nervous though, I kept thinking about what if he rejected me. I knew though that Thanatos would help put the pieces back together just like always.

The minute I crossed into pack territory, I felt him. He was in the pack house, I could sense the wolves on patrol, and the ones still sleeping. I might not have mentioned this but along with death, I am the patron goddess of wolves. Not werewolves, Selene holds that position but plain wolves. Since they are wolves I still have some degree of power over them.

I avoided any guards and found an open window to the pack house. Quickly I jumped and climbed inside. Luckily the window was on the second floor, the same floor he was on. Carefully I crept along until I sensed him, it was an office I would guess but I wasn't sure if I should enter or not. He made decision for me, he opened his office door.

"Is it really you? Or am I dreaming?" He asked.
I looked him over, he looked tired but other than that he was extremely handsome. He had wavy brown hair, and chocolate brown eyes to match. He was muscled and toned as well but not overly like Ares. I could sense his strength. "Say something, please," he pleaded.

"I'm here."
"It's really me."

His eyes widened, and without any warning his lips crashed onto mine. Passion and possession were the only words that described it. He pulled back with a shocked look on his face.
I laughed, "Is there somewhere we could talk. I would like to get to know you."

"Uh, right here in my office," he said blushing.

"Okay." I stepped inside, there was a fireplace set into the wall next to a sofa that I took a seat on.

"I... I don't know where to . start. I want know everything about you."

"Well to start with I'm Rivianna."

"Linkin. Are you a were?" He blurted out.

"Where? I'm here in England."

"Oh well, there's something I need to say then. I... I'm a werewolf."

I laughed, "There's no such thing!"

"Ya there is and I am," he pressed.

"Okay I'm out of here, you're crazy!" I walked towards the door, then suddenly turned around. "Just kidding."

"What?" His face was priceless.

"I'm not a werewolf. But I am something else that I can't tell you just yet. I get that we don't know each other but I'm asking you to trust me. As your mate."

"I trust you completely. At least you already know about us."

"Yep, so back to getting to know each other..."

We asked each other questions for a while. Just basic ones like favorite colors and middle names, and then more serious ones like magics and family. Some were hard to answer like where'd you grow up, and what is your best friends name.

Finally I had to stop him, "Linkin, I must be going. It was fun but I have to get some sleep."

"Where will you sleep?"

"I think I passed a motel a few miles off the highway."

"Why don't you stay here?"

"I couldn't..."

"Yes you could, so I know you're safe at least."

"Alright. But I can take care of myself."

"There's a spare room next to mine, I'll show you."

"Thanks, and if I wouldn't be imposing would it be possible to train with your pack in the morning?"

"Sure, we train at noontime before lunch."

"Okay, night. Thanks Linkin," I said.

"Anytime, sleep well Rivianna."

I slept well for the first time in a year, and when I awoke I was excited. Quickly I showered and changed into a black shirt and shorts. Brushing my hair I made sure I was presentable. Black hair strait as a pin, and emerald eyes bright. My body was tan and tone and I was ready for a fight.

I skipped downstairs and met up with Linkin on his way out to the field. Once we were there, Linkin stepped forward to introduce me.

"Everyone, there is someone special here who's going to train with us. Meet Rivianna."

I did a little wave and stepped forward. "Please don't hold back for me. I'm a lot stronger than I look."

"You heard her," Linkin stretched his arms, "start the session."

We started out by running the border around the territory, the did some weight lifting, and finally started one on one combat. Linkin approached me with another man beside him.

"Rivianna, this is Chase, my beta."

"Pleasure," I replied.

"I would like to test your combat skills, and with the exception of the Alpha I am the strongest here. Do you except my challenge?" Chase asked.

"On one condition."

"Name it."

"Do not hold back."

"Never."

Chase led me outside, then turned back to me. "Ready?"

"Of course."

I noticed we had an audience as we circled each other, watching for a weakness. He wouldn't easily find one, but I spotted his instantly.

Chase rushed me with a roundhouse kick, trying to knock me off balance. I blocked the kick and shot my own kick to his left knee. He narrowly avoided it, and launched a flurry of punches that I blocked easily. I knocked him off balance with a kick to the side and swept his feet out from under him. I placed my foot on his chest.

"Give," Chase admitted.

"Sorry," I offered a hand up.

"You're very good, maybe better than Link."

"Maybe we should test it out?" I offered Linkin.

"Sure," Linkin readily agreed.

"Wanna make it interesting? I saw some staffs inside."

"You know how to use it?"

"Better than anything."

"Alright," Linkin went inside to grab them.

He reappeared and tossed me the staff. I caught it and spun it, testing it's balance. I nodded to him that I was ready, and we began.

At first it was a few easy jabs, but as we got into it, we got more bold. Linkin got a few hits to my shoulders and leg. I got a good few strikes to his ribs and arm. Finally we called a tie.

"Damn," Chase whistled. "Remind me not to get you mad."

"Ha, same," Linkin agreed.

"You should probably see the pack doctor, I'm pretty sure I cracked your rib."

"Eh, it'll be fine. I'm hungry, wanna grab some lunch?"

"Sure."
