The next morning I woke up and saw Than watching me sleep.
"Um, hi. I stretched. "Do you have any food?"
He laughed, "Cook's Ambrosia cookies?"
"Yes please, with nectar?"
"Be right back," he teleported out.
I got out of bed muttering, "Just cause he's a little older than me, he can teleport everywhere."
"Morning Thanatos!" Hypnos said walking through the bedroom door. He stopped as soon as he saw me. "Huh?"
"Um hey... It's really not what it looks like." I quickly slipped my chition on.
"Sure...."
"It's not little brother, as much as I wish it was," Than said as he teleported back.
"Well shame on you Riv, you'd think after giving him blue balls for over a millennium you have the decency to shag him at least!"
"Well why don't you tell us why you're here and get out so I can?"
"I'm here because Lexi wanted me to ask Than to take her to see Linkin."
"Oh," I said.
"Yeah okay, um, I'll be there in a sec."
Hypnos left and Than turned to me, "Will you be okay?"
"Yeah of course, go. I'll be here," I waved him away.
"Okay."
Once he left I went home and changed into a fresh chition. Instead of black I wore dark navy. Can you see a theme? Dark clothes on a death goddess. Typical.
Anyway, after changing I teleported back to Than's. I stood at the mirror using his hair brush. My hair was getting really long, it was down to my ribs now.
While I was waiting for Than to get back I wandered around looking for something to do. I finally settled on reading, I chose Romeo and Juliet.
I had read it before and it was one of my favorites. Mortals take so long to do nearly everything, especially finding a mate-sorry partner. They usually take months if not years. That has never made since to me. I could understand if gods or other immortals took that long, we live forever. But mortals are just that- mortal. In Romeo and Juliet it's different. They fall in love very quickly, and eventually they die for each other.
Reading that again made me realize something. It doesn't matter if I'm mortal or not, I should live as if I am. Take chances, live as if everyday was the last. I mean what's life for if its not for living?
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••When Than finally teleported back I was ready. I had go to Cook for dinner and set it out on the table. I had gotten stuffed mushrooms and pasta salad. Along with a bottle of wine.
"Rivianna... This looks amazing," Than smiled.
"Well I didn't cook it," I admitted.
"Doesn't matter," he kissed my forehead. "And wine too?"
"Dionysus assured me its one of the finest wines ever to be made."
"1787 Chateau Margaux," He read off. "Let's eat!"
After dinner, Than asked if I wanted to take a walk around Athens with him. We found a nice hill that overlooked the Parthenon.
"I like to come here every so often. Just to remember where we came from," I said.
"Me too."
And we kissed.
*Short little chapter here. Sorry guys next one her finally putting poor Thanatos out of his misery ;) if you catch my drift *
