Another one?!

A humanAU! tmnt story.

I'm using the Rise! Age gaps, that's why Leo and Donnie are twins, but it could be any gen I guess.

Also, I'm not gonna describe what they look like as humans because everyone has their own headcanons.

All you really need to know is Hamato Yoshi is Splinter, the boys' bio father and they all have different mothers (except Leo and Donnie because, twins) who they get separated from for different reasons.

"Hello, am I speaking to Mr Hamato?"

"Yes, that is me. Who is this?"

"Hi, Mr. Hamato. I'm with the Department of Child Welfare. We would like to talk to you about your son."

"I'm sorry, I believe you're mistaken. I don't have a son."

"You are Yoshi Hamato, yes?"

"Yes, that is me."

"Well, your name is on his birth certificate. Raphael is a little 3-year-old boy, who sadly had to be taken away from his mother, for reasons we cannot tell you yet. We would like for you to come in for a DNA test and talk about his future living arrangements."

"Oh, ah sure. When can I come in?"

"As soon as possible, preferably."

"I can come in tomorrow."

"Perfect."

"Raphael, I'd like you to meet your father." The social worker says walking in and holding the little boy's hand.

"Wah? No, no no, no! Where's mommy?" He yells tears forming in his eyes.

"Remember? Mommy can't take care of you. But this is your dad, he's very nice and wants to look after you and keep you safe." She says kneeling down to look into the boy's eyes. "Why don't you play with him for a little bit and see how much fun he is, yeah?"

Raphael nods slowly and turns to the man sitting on the floor. He waves shyly and Yoshi waves back smiling. Raphael walks towards him and sits across from him, picking up a car to play by himself.

"You know, I use to have a car just like that. It was red and kinda loud." Yoshi says quietly, softly smiling.

Raphael looks up in amazement. "Was it fast?" He asks excitedly. Yoshi nods.

~ two years later ~

"Hello, Mr. Hamato?"

"Yes, that is me."

"Ah, I'm calling from the Department of Child Welfare."

"Uh, I'm guessing this is either about my son or I have another child." Yoshi laughs slightly.

"Heh, try two children. Since your DNA was already in our system, when we ran their DNA it matched with yours. Two young boys, age 4, Leonardo and Donatello. They've been in care for 3 years but only just got matched to you. We need you to come in to discuss their living arrangements."

"Ah, yes. I'll come in tomorrow when my son is at school."

"That would be great, thank you."

"Now, Raphael, remember what I told you. You're gonna be a big brother, I need you to help me protect and take care of your little brothers. It's your job as their big brother. They'll probably be scared, just be gentle with them at first." Yoshi says to the 5-year-old boy as he walks hand in hand with Raphael through the building.
