"Holy shit." I muttered, starting at the view that was Austin's giant beach house. "What?" Austin walked up next to me. "It's just..." I tried to think of the best words to describe this place without being rude. "Breathtaking." I decided. "Yeah. I'm really blessed."
"Hell yeah you are!" Austin and I both whipped our heads around to Eloise standing behind us. I would like to say that her rude comment was unexpected, but honestly, it wasn't.
"Hey, Austin right? Or are you his hot friend? I'm Eloise." I face-palmed as Austin introduced himself and laughed at everything she said in the meantime. As much as I hated to admit it, it was making me slightly jealous. I wanted to be the one to have that kind of effect on him. I saw Zach and Jack walking towards us holding beers, and I nudged Eloise. "El, I've got someone to introduce you to." I knew that they'd meet anyways, I just couldn't stand my friend's flirty persona acting upon a possible crush of mine. I definitely got dibs on whatever boy I wanted in my apartment, and Austin was definitely the only option.
Jack handed Austin a beer, and I looked up to see that Zach was already in conversation with Eloise. Done.
"So," I turned back around to Austin. "What's the agenda tonight?"
He smirked at me, which, might I add, turned me on much more than I'd like to admit. "Well, usually everyone mingles for awhile, and then the fire starts at 11. We can basically do whatever until then. The fire is a lot more fun if you're wasted." I nodded. "Maybe that should be my plan then."
"Yeah? Well, we can get wasted together." He grinned, knocking his beer can against mine as an indication of a toast. I laughed softly.
Austin and I began walking along the sand, laughing and talking about random things, mainly Robert.
"God, you know, I love him. He's like my brother. But he's such an idiot." I giggled, nodding, as I felt the alcohol kick in. I was tipsy at this point, and it was 10 o'clock. "Austin?" I asked. "Yeah?" He replied softly. "I'm still not drunk."
"We should definitely fix that." He grinned, lifting me off of my feet and running towards the house. I now had a pretty good idea of how he was planning to fix it, and I was excited to get some hard liquor into my system. He pushed his door open, carrying me to the kitchen and setting me down on the modern looking barstool. "What do you like? I have just about everything." He motioned to his display of probably every type of liquor to exist. "Hm. You have sprite?" I asked. He nodded, reaching into the large metallic refrigerator. "Sprite and Smirnoff would be absolutely wonderful." I decided. "Great choice. Girly choice."
"Hey! It tastes fizzy and fruity." I defended probably my favorite alcoholic beverage. "Exactly. The only guy I know who likes it is Zach, but don't tell him I told you." He chuckled, mixing my drink. He handed it to me before making himself some Captain and Coke.
It was official after that. I was drunk, and I was definitely ready for this bonfire. It was nearing eleven, and at 10:54, Austin and I ran out to the fire pit as fast as we could, with our hands interlocked. We sat in the two lawn chairs that weren't taken, and I found myself in between Austin and another girl, whom I believe had been introduced as Lia. I don't think that I knew what exactly I was in for that night.
