Naked Minds: Reading your mind like an open book

We've just finished all the tests today and I was now being wheeled back in my room. I'll be staying the night for a final test and a chat with the doctor tomorrow. I had Maetee accompany Gun in my suite. I'm not taking chances.

Whenn we came in, Maetee was sitting on the chair while Gun was fast asleep on the patient's bed.

"We would need the..." the nurse started.

"Just leave him for now." I cut her off.

"I'll be back tomorrow at around 6am." she said then left.

"He's been uneasy the entire time. He only fell asleep after I did that." Maetee said pointing at the bed. He had placed my jacket on the bed where Gun snuggled over it.

"Thanks for staying longer." I told Maetee. "You can go back now. I'll manage from here."

"But Kun, you're parents already know." He said.

"I know. Don't worry about it. My sister would probably be the one picking me up tomorrow."  I assured him but he still looked uneasy. It was his and T-Rex's task to keep me safe but I had them running after Gun eversince he got injured. "I'll talk to them about it."

He nodded.

"It's been a long day  and you also need to get your rest. I'll tell you if I need you, alright?"

"Krap. I'll go ahead then, Kun Off." He bowed when he left.

I stood by the bed to watch the little guy sleep. He looks peaceful now. It was indeed a long day. I went to lie down on the couch. I've just closed my eyes when I could see images of a car crash - mine and another one. It was all merged into one weird movie. It was then that I realized that Gun was having a bad dream. I went by the bed to find him clutching on my jacket.

"Gun, everything's fine. I'm right here." I said stroking his shoulder.

He quickly let go of my jacket and clung to my arm, not letting go. I got on the bed to hug him and carress his back. His small frame was covered by my chest, where he hid his face. He was clutching on my hospital gown as he fell back into deep slumber.

I woke up to gasps and several people surrounding the bed. Mae, Por, and Je seems to have arrived and staring at me... still wrapped arround Gun.

I quickly tucked Gun under the sheets before walking over to my family.

"Found yourself a new toy?" Mae teased.

"You make sound like I'm a player, Mae." I complained.

"It's just that you were clinging to that boy as if you don't want to share it with anyone." Mae teased.

Por cleared his throat. While Mae is open to pretty much anything, Por is quite a traditional guy. "I have heard everything from your sister." He said changing the subject. "Your doctor said everything is clear but he's still like to discuss everything in detail with you."

"Thanks, Por." I said.

"Teerak, I still have a meeting. Have Nitin accompany you na." Por said oh so sweetly to Mae. Yep, he's the traditional strict father but a chicken-pecked husband.

"Are you telling me you're no longer willing to drive me around?" Mae teased by acting hurt.

"No, dear. It's just that I've been trying to have this meeting for weeks now." Por started to explain.

"It's alright, Mae. I can drive you around. Por, don't worry. I'll take care of Mae." Je said.

As soon as Por left with my sister close behind him, Mae dragged me to sit on the couch, eager to hear juicy details of what they recently witnessed.
