<< GUN >>

The past 4 weeks have been tiring, both mentally and physically. Though I was happy with everyone's improvement, I somehow feel that my abilities remain stagnant. I mean sure my stamina did improve as I was able to hold the MDCs for everyone at a longer span but nothing else.

The following week would be the deliberation as to whether we would still stay in the dorm. As we've been racking our brains and body for an entire month, we've decide that we'd take a break this weekend. So here I was moping by the pool, trying to think if mind reading was the end of my gift.

"There you are. I've been looking all over for you." Papi sighed as he walked over to me and sat beside me.

I peeled myself from self pity and looked up at him.

"What's wrong? What's bothering you?" He held me close enough but still looked in my eyes.

"I thought we'd take a break from using our gifts."

"I don't need to read your mind to know what you're thinking."

"I'll be fine, Papi. I'm just thinking of some silly stuff."

"You know I'm always here for you."

Then I started sharing him my worries.

"So you feel you're becoming stagnant?" He pointed out.

"In a sense, yes." I sighed. "I know it's already a feat but knowing that everyone has improved except me, I just feel stuck."

"I haven't." He pointed out.

"Yeah but you can also see what they are seeing. I've had mine since forever and yet it's the same. Unlike everyone, who seems to have progressed faster than I did. It's silly but that's what it is." I admitted.

"You'll find yours when the time comes. Don't worry too much about it." He assured me.

I nodded weakly then rested my head on his shoulder. I always find solace in his presence. Everything feels serene when I'm with him.

"Off, can I have a word?" New peered his head out the balcony.

"I'll be with you in a bit." Papi told him. He turned to me, "Will you be ok here?" He looked very concerned.

"I'll be fine, Papi. I just need some time to get this out of my system." I assured him.

I was wallowing in my thoughts that I didn't notice when Papi left and that he even returned.

"How long have you been there? And why are you sitting so far, Papi?" I was already feeling better after savoring the doubt. Now it's time for me to look forward.

"I'm just admiring you from afar." He had that smile that somehow hinted of leaving.

"Well that's too far to apprceciate my beauty!" I got up and sat on his lap. "This is the best distance." I added while our faces were inches away from the other.

"I might not be able to control myself if you're this close." He said.

"Who told you to hold back?" I teased.

He leaned over and planted a sweet but sad kiss.

"What's wrong?" I asked as I could feel that there was an ominous aura surrounding us.

He hugged me and buried his face on the base of my neck. "Nothing. I'm just worried about you. You looked so forlorn earlier." I'm sure that wasn't the whole picture but I didn't force the issue. He'll tell me when the time is right. Still I can't shake it off my head as we went on with our day.
