You sighed as you put the last box down. Wiping off the sweat on your brow, you looked around your new house.

It's empty, but it's always like that when people move. It's tiring, but it'll be worth it, you know it. With all the boxes out of the way, you just need to unpack.

You came from the city, a big place that was always so busy and never quiet. You were glad you saved up enough money to get out of your stuffy apartment. You knew that moving to the small town was a good choice. You've already met you're neighbors! They were a lovely couple, their daughter, Lila, was such a sweetheart. Across your house was another family with a girl named Jaune. She was so energetic and super sweet.

Overall, you were super glad you moved. The town is quiet, and the locals are friendly! All you have left to do is unpack and explore!

You finished unpacking one box, you look around your cluttered living room.

You sigh.

"Maybe I'll wait a little bit before I explore..."

---

You were a stay-at-home graphic designer, so you worked on your laptop at home. That didn't mean you hated going outside, though. In fact, it was quite the opposite.

You loved going out, exploring new places. It just happened that graphic designing was your passion, a passion that required you to stay at home on your laptop.

You sigh again. Leaning back, you crack your back. You got all of your stuff moved today, and finished unpacking all the essentials.

"Well, I think that's enough productivity for one day." You say, grabbing your coat. "It's time to explore and see what this town has to offer!"

And so, you head outside. Walking down the sidewalk, you wave to Lila's parents. The weather here is so nice, you think to yourself. You wouldn't mind going out again.

You pass by the candy store. Maybe you'll go there sometime, you did have quite the sweet tooth after all.

You continue exploring the town, the park, a really rich house, a haunted house, the forest, the town square. The town was small and cozy. You stopped after hearing your stomach grumble.

"Is it lunchtime already?" You mutter to yourself. You left early in the morning after having breakfast. After a long morning at work, no wonder you were hungry. You decided to stop at one of the restaurants that you've heard was really good. Why not treat yourself?

You walk into the diner. Boys 'N' Grills, right?

The first thing that hits you is the smell. It smells so good in here! You look around, there's a couple of booths situated by the windows, on the walls. There's bar stools by the counter, you could see a couple of people chatting with each other there.

You decide to sit at the booth. Walking over, you can see around four to five employees. Two in the kitchen, one chatting with the customers, and two others taking orders. You pick up the menu to see what you can order. You settle for a simple burger.

Not a minute later, someone walks up to you.

"Heya. Can I take your order?"

You look up to see a tall man standing in front of you in the Boys 'N' Grills uniform. His nametag reads "Bob." His hair is black and he has a bit of stubble on his chin, he wears lazy smile. He seems friendly enough.

You give a polite smile, but before you can speak, he speaks again. "Oh, haven't seen you here before. You a new customer or just new in general?"

Damn. These people are really tight knit. You weren't used to it, not yet.

"Oh! Uh, yeah! I just moved here!" You manage to get a few words out of your mouth. The man perks.

"Oh, really? When?" He asks. Time to engage your conversation skills.

"Haha, just today. This morning, actually." You idiot, your brain screams at you, why did you laugh??

"Oh, that's cool. Where from?" And from there, you and Bob make small talk before he finally goes to make your order.

All these people are so friendly, you think. I hope I'll be able to fit in...

A couple minutes later, Bob came back with your order in hand. "Here ya go! One burger, on the house."

You startle, "On the house? Oh, um, thank you. But really it's ok! I can pay for it!" You go to grab some cash from your wallet, but before you could, a hand rests on the table.

"Nah, think of it as a welcome gift from me, to you." He places your burger down, you noticed it came with fries too.

He holds out his hand, "I'm Bob, nice to meet'cha!" His grin still rests on his face. You gave one in return, a genuine one.

"I'm Y/N."

As you walk home, you can't help but think you just made a new friend.
