🎶"Have a holly, jolly Christmas..."🎶
You hum along to the music playing on the radio, placing boxes in the trunk of your car. You finally had a reason to use it. The snowflakes come down in fluffy chunks, coating the road with the cold white substance. You smile. You love Christmas, and this was the first time spending it in your new home!
With Bob, your new friend.
You cheeks turn red at the thought. It's just the cold, you reason with yourself. To distract yourself, you put the final box of Christmas decorations in the trunk. You smile to yourself, already thinking on how you're going to decorate the diner. You were the one that did the planning, you and the kids' families are going to help Bob with decorating.
You get in the car and start the drive to Boys 'N' Grills.
---
As you instructed the previous day, Bob handled the Christmas tree. The ivy leaves shaping the tree into the perfect cone shape all Christmas trees wished to be. He found it in the forest after burying the bones of one of his victims, conveniently having an axe with him at the time.
He knew by the joy on your face he got the right one.
"Well," he says as you admire the tree, a fond smile growing on his face, "what can I say? I'm an expert at these kinds of things." You turn to him, and he can see literal stars in your eyes. "Oh, Bob! It's perfect!" You squeal, and he barely has time to react before you leap on him, putting your arms around your neck as you squeeze him tight. "Thank you thank you thank you!!"
He smiles as he puts his hands on your waist, successfully catching you without toppling over. He uses the momentum to swing you around in a circle, being careful not trip as he laughs. "Anythin' for you, doll~." He says as he finally stops, still carrying you in the air, his arms holding you above him.
It was at that moment you realized how close your faces are.
You could see the pink on his cheeks, see how his eyes are half-lidded and are looking at you with such...happiness and admiration. Slowly, you lift your arms around his neck to hold his face in your hands. "Bob..." you mumble, not knowing that your leaning closer. At this point, you could feel his hot breath against your lips.
Just an inch more until...
The door slams open, making you squeak and pull away. God... I almost kissed him! You panic, your eyes avert from his gaze which weighs heavily on you, even though he's looking up. It makes you realize you're still in his arms.
God, what's up with you being in his arms all the time???
"Am I... interruptin'? Somethin'?" The new voice asked. It was Mrs. Melody, Jaune's mother. She was holding another box of Christmas decor, her foot sticking out showing that she actually kicked the door open.
You loved the woman to death, she acted like a second mother to you. But, god.
She was so overprotective.
"Eek!" You yelp, making Bob put you down. Since you're looking at Mrs. Melody, you can't see how Bob looks flustered and disappointed. You walk towards her, your hands waving wildly as you try to explain the situation.
"Mrs. Melody! I-It's not like that, I swear!" You stutter out as her eyes narrow, looking between you and Bob distrustfully. "Uh huh." She replies, clearly not convinced with your amazing explanation. She decides to spare you from any more embarrassment as she watches you bury your face in your hands, trying to hide blush.
