ANOTHER: REWRITTEN // もう一つ: 書き直した (Inspired by Yukito Ayatsuji's "ANOTHER")

Chapter II - A Midwinter Night Dream.

The date is 28 December 2004:

It's roughly 3:15 AM, and Langa has just arrived to his dorm from a walk outside. As he has noticed Mei sleeping, he didn't want to disturb Mei sleeping, so he fixes a cup of tea, quietly. As Mei opens her eyes, slowly, Langa takes a sip of his tea, not knowing that Mei is just starting to wake up. "L-Langa? Where have you been this whole time?" she asked in a soft-spoken voice. "Well, I guess I didn't want to disturb you, but I was out on a walk. I kind of got tired, and I needed to-hm?", Langa said as he noticed Mei gently hugging him. "You require your rest, so please, sleep, right here.", she said as she pointed to the spot next to her. "With you? I'm not so sure about that. I don't usually sleep next to a girl if it's absolutely necessary." (Langa) 
"Well, this is absolutely needed, as your roommate, so, I ask you to do this." (Mei)

After they slept for almost 9 hours, the time is now 11:45 AM. At this time, someone was knocking on their dorm door. Langa yawns, and decides to open the dorm door. "Oh? I don't know you. Are you a friend of Mei's?", asked Langa, to which the person said, "My twin sibling and I are more like relatives to Mei. I'm Mitsuba Kasai, and this is Yume. Yume, please don't be shy to wave at the new kid here at this university.", said Mitsuba Kasai, as she turned to her non-binary sibling. Yume Kasai, the non-binary sibling in question, waved at Langa, to which Langa waved back at them. "They look rather shy.", said Langa, which he took note of. "Ah, look! It seems like some relatives of mine have decided to slot in a visit to this dorm! Please, come on in. We'll make room for you guys.", Mei said, as she was starting to wake up.

In the other dorm next to Mei and Langa's, there was a 4 bedroom dorm that was given to 4 students, one of which was an abroad student. The students were Haise Kishimaki, Kiyo Miko, Kang Jaemin, an abroad student from Korea, and Maryn Ise. Haise is a senior, Kiyo: A sophomore, Jaemin (In Japan: Yuzuha Kaminari): a Junior who's an abroad student, and Maryn, a freshman. There were two guests visiting the dorm that belonged to these four students: Satoru Ichinose, and Yuuri Itsuki. Yuuri often has people, mainly abroad students, spelling her name as "Yuri", which she doesn't mind that spelling, but she says it gets annoying after too many people spell it instead of how she would spell it with Romanised characters and in Japanese.

In the other dorm, on the opposite side of Mei and Langa's, lives a couple that have been dating for roughly 4 years, and two best friends. The couple in question is Yuuri's older Agender sibling, Shinhwa Itsuki, and their girlfriend, Tamaki Akiko. The two best friends are Asuka Atsushi and Mitsuri Osamu. A guest has arrived in their dorm, to see the couple, since this is their friend that they've met in secondary school. Her name is Kona Suarez, a student who now attends this university. Kona, given the name Tohru Mitsubishi in Japan, was from an orphanage in The Philippines, who had been adopted into the Mitsubishi family when she was 13. Kona is half Filipino, a quarter Hawaiian, and a quarter Japanese, but knows little about the Japanese language, so in her free time, she studies Japanese to learn more about her Japanese heritage. 

After some time has passed, Tohru has met a new friend, Diamonde Valverde, a Filipino-Native American student who is planning on moving to Japan in early 2006. Two days before, Diamonde had met her roommate, Julyen "Noelle" Laurent, a French student who has a Japanese boyfriend, Ritsuka Miyasaki, whose English name is Aster. Another roommate of Diamonde's was Reisuke "Rei" Inumaki. The last roommate was Samson de Souza, a Brazilian Portuguese student of Romanian descent. The situation is a bit different compared to Tohru's dorm situation. While there are two seniors, a junior, and a sophomore in Tohru's dorm, in Diamonde's dorm, there are three juniors, and one senior. Diamonde is a junior year student.

Damien Ramirez was also another abroad student studying in Japan, specifically in Shibuya. Hailing from Madrid, Spain, but born in the Western USA, he was always fascinated by the wonders of how Japan worked when it came to seeing its society. After becoming an exchange student in mid 2004, Damien has been told he was "fit to play a role in the Japanese society" due to the role he plays as someone from Spain. Playing football and basketball were his two main hobbies, as well as listening to music for hours on end. He was a huge fan of music, specifically American Rap music, and how it progressed in the coming years. As many people see him as an Extravert, he has been an exchange student in Japan not once, but twice. Once in 1995, and once in 1998. Both were for the respective school years. 

Meanwhile, Langa and Mei were making room for the Kasai siblings, who were also siblings to Mei. When Mei was asked about being Langa's friend by Yume, she just stood there, not knowing how to respond. Finally, she said, "I'm honoured to be a transfer student's friend. Especially, one who comes from a North American country, like Canada." Langa stood there, smiling at Mei, being really happy that Mei said that about him. "Wait, Langa, is Canada in North America, by any chance? I have very vivid imagery about learning geography.", in which Langa replied, "Canada is in North America. I come from Eastern Canada. Ottawa, to be more specific, is in Ontario, which is in Canada. I had to explain it to a lot of people, for them to get the memorandum of it. It's kind of hard, but you get the idea, if you understand hard enough." 

Just then, Damien knocked on Mei and Langa's dorm. "Sorry if I am bothering you two, but it appears that I have something to talk to you two about." Damien then proceeds with a courteous, "May I come in?", to which both Mei and Langa say, "You may, but we don't know your name." Damien then formally introduces himself, "Oh, dearest apologies. I'm Damien Ramirez, an abroad student from Madrid, Spain. I was born in the Western USA, but I moved to Spain when I was 5. Not only that, but I'm the youngest of two, my older brother is DiAngelo Casemiro. They were an abroad student here as well...when I was an exchange student in secondary school the second time around, we were in Japan." "I hate to ask this, but how come both of you were exchange students?", asked Mei, to which Damien replied with, "We were staying in Japan in 1998 for the second time, and I became an exchange student there. I was probably a middle school student there. I was born in '85, so I don't remember much from it."

"I could figure that, to be very fond of your memories. If DiAngelo or whatever their name is can tell you more about it...we would be happy to know about their experience about a ghost haunting this university. I don't know the name of this university, but there are a lot of people that know the name of this university. Not only I fear this ghost or whatever it might be, may be haunting us all, but the club that will be responsible for it, code-named 'EyePatch Club', will be the one who will find out about this ghost or whatever it might be. So, you may not have to worry after all."

Mitsuba Kasai: 1 of 2 known siblings known to Mei Misaki, a student at the same university both Mei and Langa Ichimura attend. Pink haired, pink eyed.
Yume Kasai: A shy, reserved person, the twin sibling in the Kasai-Misaki family. Another student who attends the same university as Mei, Langa, and Mitsuba. Also, pink haired, pink eyed.
Haise Kishimaki: A student who shares a dorm with 3 other students, one of those being an abroad student. Black haired, black eyed.
Kiyo Miko: Another student who shares the same dorm with 3 students. An outgoing person. Pink haired, Purple eyed.
Kang Jaemin/Yuzuha Kaminari: The abroad student in the dorm that's beside to Langa and Mei's dorm. An artistic person who loves drawing characters and people, aspires to be a manga writer in the near future. Grey-white haired, grey eyed.
Maryn Ise: The last student that shares a dorm next to Langa and Mei's dorm. Similar to Yume, although way more shy and reserved, and prefers staying alone inside a room. Half Blonde, Half Black haired, green-eyed.
Satoru Ichinose: A guest visiting the dorm next to Langa and Mei's dorm. He goes to a University in Shinjuku. White haired, grey eyed. 
Yuuri Itsuki: Another guest that was visiting the same dorm as Satoru. She is a soon-to-be University student. Pink haired, pink eyed.
Shinhwa Itsuki: Yuuri's older sibling, and a student of this university, has a girlfriend. Pink haired, yellow eyed.
Tamaki Akiko: Shinhwa's girlfriend, a friend to one of the members of EyePatch Club. Dark Blue haired, Red eyed.
Asuka Atsushi: A student who's best friend is part of the LGBTQ. Prefers to be social and likes to interact with people. Grey haired, black eyed.
Mitsuri Osamu: Part of the LGBTQ, the opposite of Asuka, is reserved, doesn't like to be social, and hates interacting with people, despite being friends with Asuka for nearly 4 years. Half Pink, Half Orange haired, bright red eyed.
Kona Suarez / Tohru Mitsubishi: An abroad student (well, kind of) who was from an orphanage in The Philippines and now studies in Japan. One of the smarter students of the abroad program. Black hair, black eyed.
Diamonde Valverde: A close friend of Kona's / Tohru's who knows a lot about the school, because of previous students. Another abroad student. Half Jade Green, Half Ruby Red haired, dark red eyed.
Julyen "Noelle" Laurent: A French abroad student who speaks 4 languages: English, Japanese, French, and Chinese. They can also understand some of Cantonese, German, Russian, and Ukrainian. Also, they have a Japanese boyfriend. Grey-white haired, pink eyed.
Ritsuka Miyasaki: English name: Aster. The boyfriend to Julyen. A guide to this university. Black haired, green-eyed. 
Reisuke "Rei" Inumaki: A person who's been wearing a mask since they were around 12 years old, and hasn't looked back since. Keeps up-to-date with everything around the school. Black haired, Navy blue eyed.
Samson de Souza: A Brazillian Portuguese student of Romanian descent who's a transfer student. A senior at this school, who now shares a dorm with 3 other students, not to mention, it's now their final year in university. Blonde haired, red eyed.
Damien Ramirez: Has an older brother, was an exchange student in middle and secondary school in 1995 and 1998 because of living in Japan for those years. Green haired, burnt orange eyed.
