Chapter 4 : Strange Happenings
"Hell! I'm bored. We can't even go to the beach today." Complained Jason.
"Yeah. Listen why don't you guys just laze around a bit and get some information on water sports while we girls go shopping." Andrea suggested.
"Yeah! I mean we've been here for so many days and we've not even shopped in the local markets. " Angie said.
Since the girls seemed to be so enthused by this idea, we decided to go with it. So it was going to be a boys day out today.
We decided to meet each other at the Villa in 2 hour's time. Connor, Kyle, Alex, Jake, Harry, Jason and I proceeded to the streets of small seaside town where we were staying. We decided that we would laze around for some time and then go to the port to check out the adenture sports.
We crossed the streets easily, for there were hardly any cars around. We settled down on a ledge near the seashore looking out in peace.
"So Jake," Kyle said beginning a conversation, "why don't you trying asking Angie out again? You never know she might say yes. Third time lucky, you know."
I grinned at the proverb at the end of the sentence. Poor Jake didn't have much luck in his never-ending pursuit of Angie. She hardly gave him any special importance, though she was a proper friend occassionally.
Jake frowned. "Not happening anytime soon. I'm biding my time. Let's hope she will come around,"
"You know I never had such problems with Katie. Both of us love each other soo much." A;ex said beginning again his so called fairytalish love story all over again. Oh and by the way he wasn't talking to me due to that stupid dare. Doesn't matter I hardly gave a damn.
Alex was a strange species. Even though I knew him and Ruby longer and better than the other people in the group, his behaviour confused me sometimes. This wasn't the first time he was behaving like this with me, he had done so in the past repeatedly. Mostly when matters came to Katie. OH LORD he was addicted to her. Poor chap doesn't realize she is not so obssessed with him as he is with her. And when I got that topic up his only reaction wil be to get angry with me and ignore me for some amount of time. I didn't really care nowadays, it happened so often.
"Dont start with it all over again." Connor said with a disgusted expression. "You can become a Hollywood scriptwriter someday, write as many chessy love stories as you like, but spare me."
We broke into grins. Alex seemed minorly offended but he didn't show it. The topic of discussion switched to other more important matters such as Percy's presence on the beach today morning.
"Quite strange that she come here of all places to holiday." Harry noted. "This isn't even on the tourist attraction map of any tourist."
"Yeah but she might have come here for some peace and quiet. You know no disturbance, no noise and pollution like in cities and in our school, of course." Jason said.
Just then something caught Harry's eyes. He pointed to the sea and shouted excitedly, "Hey guys, there's a ship entering the port."
Like a reflex reaction all our eyes towards the seas. True to Harry's words there was a ship albeit small nearing the port.
"I didn't even know the port could yet be used. It looks so ramshackle and unused, I thought it was shut." Jason remarked.
"No one did, fool. I say lets go to the port top enquire about the adventure sports now. We can have a peek at the ship too."Kyle suggested.
