Ma: I've missed you so much, son!
Niyakap ako ni Mama at nakangiti lang sa likod niya si papa.
Pa: I heard you were stranded in that island with the daughter of the Fords-
ako: If you're thinking that I used her in anyway you're fcking wrong.
Ma: Watch your words young man.
Pa: Hahaha! You really are just like me, but don't worry I'm not interested in that matter.
ako: Then what?
Pa: Do you like her?
ako: Of course not!
Nagulat ata silang dalawa sa sagot ko at nagkatinginan.
Ma: But son, she's gorgeous, sma-
ako: Ma, I don't like her. I love her.
Pa: Good.
ako: W-What? Aren't you suppose to be mad or something?
Pa: Why's that?
ako: 'Cause she's the daughter of your most rivaled company.
Pa: We wouldn't go through all that trouble if I don't like her for you.
ako: Wait! What trouble?!
Ma: Hon!
Pa: Tsk. Sorry...
ANung trouble? ANung pinagsasasabi nila?! Teka....
ako: Don't fcking tell me you set all those up!
Ma: Uhmmm..
Pa: We did.
ako: And by "we", you mean?
Pa: Her parents and us.
ako: Why did you do that!?
Pa: Not because we're rivals in the business world, we aren't best friends. Her dad was my best friend since birth and we both met yours and Julia's mom in college, they're cousins.
ako: How come I never heard any of this?!
Ma: You didn't ask.
ako: But it doesn't give you reason to throw us into an island! What if she died when she got sick?! WHat if something bad happened to her during our stay there?!
Pa: Nothing happened, and nothing will.
ako: How sure are you?!
Pa: Well, both of you are safe right now and you 2 were under surveillance.
ako: I don't get the damn reason why you did that!
Ma: It was mine and her mom's idea. We like both of you to end with each other. But we can't do that by the normal "set you up on a date" method. It won't let you develop your feelings naturally.
Pa: We agreed to their plan because in this way you two could go through things together and let the other depend on the other.
ako: Ughhh!
Pa: What are you being irritated for? You do have to thank us for bringing Julia into your life.
ako: You're right but tha-
Ma: Oh, shut up son. What's done is done. It has a great outcome. You two loves each other dearly.
DI ko na kaya toh! Tama sila, dapat ko nga silang pasalamatan kasi hindi ko siya magagawang mahalin kung hindi dahil dun sa ginawa nila. Ughhh! Hindi ko alam! Iba lang talaga yung feeling pag niloko ka eh! But I'm not mad at them, I'm just irritated. Pwede naman ibang method ang gawin nila eh, hindi yung pwedeng mapahamak si Mara. Alam ko kasing kahit anung method yan my heart will always find a way to love her! Kasi sa kanya lang ang puso ko.
See! Kakaiba talaga yang si Mara eh! She made someone like me turn into someone cheesy!
Sumakay na ko ng kotse ko, it feels weird to be able to do this again after almost a month of being stuck or thrown into that paradise. Di ko alam kung sa ako pupunta but my heart's screaming at me to go to the nearby beach.
30 minutes later, narating ko na rin siya. Maliit lang tong beach na toh at exclusive lang para sa family namin kaya nagtaka ako nang may makita akong isang sports bike sa di kalayuan. Who in their right mind would trespass in our land?!
Sinundan ko yung mga footsteps na nagsimula dun sa sports bike hanggang sa dalhin ako nito dun sa tanging babaeng nagpapatibok ng puso ko.
ako: Mara...
Lumingon siya sakin. It broke my heart to see her cry. Dali dali siyang tumakbo papunta sakina t niyakap ako.
Mara: I know it was for us! I know I'm overreacting about this small matter... But! Eto ang first time na nagsinungaling sila sakin!
Inilayo ko siya ng konti sakin pero magkayakap pa rin kami. Pinunasan ko yung mga luha niya gamit yung thumb ko.
ako: Shhh... Di bagay sayo ang umiyak. C'mon. Upo tayo dun.
Nagnod lang siya. Pumunta kami sa ilalim ng isang coconut tree, umupo ako dun at humiga naman siya sa lap ko.
Mara: I know na it was for our own good, but why did they have to keep it from us?
ako: Yan dn ang tanong ko. You know, we should forget about it. Ok naman na tayong dalawa and it gave an unexpectedly wonderful outcome.
Mara: You're right. I'm annoyed at them but at the same time I can't be more thankful enough.
Sinuklay suklay ko yung kamay ko sa buhok niya. Baliktad, diba? Dapat siya gumagawa nito eh, it's just that every part of her is perfect.
ako: Mara, sayo ba yung sports bike na nakaparada dun?
Mara: Yep! That's my BABY!
ako: You know, it's weird how I get jealous of that sports bike. Atsaka... Bat yun ang sinasakyan mo?! Pano kung maaksidente ka?! Pano kung sumemplang ka?! Pano-
Mara: Kung mapahamak ka?! Yeah, yeah, I get it. Kabisado ko na yan. That's the exact words my dad tells me everytime I ride on my Baby.
ako: Tama naman yung ataty mo eh!
Mara: But I really like it and so far wala pa naman akong aksidente.
ako: And you're waiting to get on an accident before stopping? Mara! Delkado yan eh!
Mara: And thrilling.
ako: Hayyys! Sige pagbibigyan kita! BUT! Dapat palagi kitang nakikita kung sasakay ka sa ganyan. Like palagi akong nasa likod mo!
Mara: Okiiie!
Pinanood lang namin yung mga stars... I never thought everything would be this easy. Akala ko kailangan pa namin makipagpatayan sa parents namin para lang maging magkasama kami, turns out I'm wrong.
Mara: Our parents are really tricky.
ako: Yeah, they're the perfect match makers, only they're too extreme.
Mara: Haha!
We spent the rest of our night there. Dun kami sa beach house natulog, magkatabi. Nalaman ko ring may share din pala dito sa lupang toh kasi eto yung unang lupa na binili ng parents ko with the help of her parents. Di nila ginagamit toh kasi may isa pa silang beach house kaya wala siyang gamit dito. Di niyo alam kung ganu kalaking resistance ang ginawa ko para di siya mahalikan nung gumising ako nung umagang yun at nakita siyang suot yung isang t-shirts ko na umabot sa knee niya tas naka messy bun yung buhok niya habang nagluluto.
I just stood there like crazy thinking... "Kung ganito ang magiging araw-araw ko, hindi ko na ata gugustuhing umalis pa para sa trabaho!"
