☊ | track thirty-six—cuz i love you

"AMIRA! STOP IGNORING ME," Humming to the melody blasting in her ears, Amira continued down the hall ignoring her boyfriend like he were a random on the street. After class, he started following her to the girls' dorm hall. Carter was completely frustrated as he stalked behind her like a madman on a mission, ignoring the obvious stares in the hallway.

"Please?" He begged.

Amira continued to hum even though she knew how upset he was. But so was she, still mad about the other day. "Baby please?" He pulled out an earpiece, whispering the plead near her ear. She simply ignored him, placed the earbud back in its place, and proceeded down the hall until number 102 popped up and her key was pulled out. "Baby please, I'm sorry. Don't shut the door on me please?" She paused with her hand around the knob. Carter raised his eyebrows hopeful she'd come around and hear him out. "Go away," He heard her utter and he halted in shock as she stepped into the room.

"No," He glared, looking up as she was about to shut the door. "Excuse me?" She pulled both earpieces out. "I said no," He took a large step in and shoved the door open, closing and locking it. He stood chest to chest with her, hanging his head down to glare at her. "You should know by now that giving up when it comes to you or anything that I want is never an option." Amira crossed her arms, giving him the same look, challenging him. "Not trusting me sure does seem to be one of those options though," She scoffed under her breath before rolling her eyes and turning away.

Carter glared harder at the back of her head before grabbing everything in her hands and tossing it on her bed before gripping her hips, spinning around, and slamming her against the door in the softest way possible. She crossed her arms, unfazed and unbothered.

"I have been patient..." He moved in closer, corrupting her personal space and hovering his face over hers. He pressed her back against the door, keeping his hands on her hips.

"...so very patient with you," Her heart went batshit at the change in his voice. "Because I know what happened was wrong and I have been trying to apologize. I understood that you weren't ready to talk and I respected that. But enough is enough because I miss you and I can tell that it's the same for you with the way you can't stop squirming your hips with each tightened grip or pull I make."

"You can't stand to be away from me as much as I can't stand being away from you. Look at yourself," His head turned to the side and Amira slowly followed, a body-length mirror at the foot of her bed facing the door. Carter turned back and Amira glared as he pulled her hips in a little.

"I've barely touched you and you're already like a dog in heat," She shivered and balled his fist at her sides.

"Go away."

"No."

"Carter."

"I trusted you the very first time you came to one of my games the first year I've known you and you told me right after our win that out of everyone on that field, I was destined to be a part of something bigger than local college football. You looked me in my eyes the way you're doing now—but there wasn't as much hunger in them as they are now, and told me to trust that one day you would be right about those words even after I denied it would ever happen because I barely believed in myself then. That was when I knew that I could always trust you. You believed in me at a time when I didn't."
