Description:Light can’t sleep, so he decides to watch some cartoons. Luca can’t sleep, so he goes to his boyfriend’s room..

“It’s three in the fuckin’ mornin’, are you seriously watchin’ that fuckin’ dog show?”

Light turned away from his laptop to see Luca leaning on the doorway to their room, arms crossed over his chest.

“Um, it’s called Bluey . Respect it. Bluey is one of the greatest animated shows currently airing on television.” Light stated matter-of-factly. “And I’m watching it because I can’t sleep. What are you doing up?”

“My stupid fuckin’ brother and Alex drank a shitload of coffee and they won’t let me have five fuckin’ seconds of peace. Figured I’d have better luck in this part of the house.” Luca made his way over to the bed, flopping down beside Luca and snaking an arm around his waist. The two laid in silence for a moment before Luca piped up again. “So why this specifically? Don’t you got a video essay or some shit like that you could be watchin’?”

“I mean, yeah, I got a whole list of videos I’ve been meaning to watch. But, like, I need something lighthearted right now. No chance of being disturbing or upsetting or anything.” Light, hitting the button to play the next episode. “Kinda dealin’ with some mental shit right now. Not a big deal, but.”

“…Oh.” Luca went quiet again after that, watching Light watch the cartoon. “Well, between me and the dogs, you’re in pretty good hands right now. Try and sleep, ‘kay? I ain’t gonna let anything happen to ya.”

“Luca, come on.” Light glanced at his boyfriend. “You know Chilli’s gonna do all the work there.”

“Did you just fuckin’ imply a cartoon dog is gonna protect you better than me?” The question lacked any bite; Luca sounded more baffled than anything.

“Well, yeah. She’s a mom. And she lives in Australia, which is fuckin’ scary.”

“Okay, good point. Still. Watch your dog show and I’ll make sure nothin’ gets to ya. Sound good?”

“Yeah. Sounds real good.”

Light ended up falling asleep eventually, each episode of the cartoon distracting him from his thoughts and letting him relax more and more until he were able to actually sleep. Luca managed to stay up a little longer, making sure Light was sleeping alright and hitting the button for the next episode to make sure the silence didn’t last too long. Eventually he reached a point where it was either sleep or pass out in a couple minutes anyway.

When morning (or later morning, anyway) came, the two of them ended up staying right where they were; Light in Luca's arms while they watched the cartoon. And if Anyone saw that Luca seemed to be paying a little more attention than he did last night, they didn’t mention it.
