The year is 2082, about fifty-nine Years ago, a virus has befallen the entire World that turned 99% of humanity into furs, many have taken their life because of this virus. The virus itself was harmless, even though it was pretty hurting to turn, other than that, it didn't attack the body in any way. Scientists are still debating if it was a virus or just a genetic malfunction that a disease provoked, but they still go with the word virus, since 1% of humans were still humans, even after getting in contact with furs.
This virus has caused the overall population to sink dramatically. Earths population is estimated to be around five billion furs/humans
20 Years later, furs have accepted that they have to live with this now, while humans were scared of their own existence. Life seemed to have continued as usual but since there were so many less people on the world, resources haven't been as damning and the earth has made a great recovery, summer has become more bearable and winters aren't as cold as they were back in 2022(IT IS FUCKING FREEZING), there haven't been as many natural disasters and the overall weather has been better ever since the virus.
This virus has also brought in what is called an uncommon fur. These furs have superhuman abilities, as in increased strength, increased agility and increased stamina. Many of these furs are either in the police, or are criminals. There has also been reported, that a fur was seen to create and control ice/water, although this is seen as a myth since there is no scientific explanation to how that could work, so people believe that this was a hoax.
