"You're making me nervous with all that fidgeting, love," I laughed, watching her struggle to put her bracelet on. "You see me struggling, Moni," she groaned.
I grabbed her hand and fastened the bracelet around her wrist. I had to add a little smoothness onto it, so I leaned down and kissed every knuckle. When I leaned up, I saw her looking at me with a wide smile.
I checked my watch, frowning at the time. "Can we hurry? We're running behind," I asked our driver. "Yes, ma'am," I heard before I felt the car pick up its speed. "We got this," Lola breathed once we felt the car stop.
"We do, now let's go," I assured as our door was opened. We entered the very tall building then went to the elevator since there is no receptionist at this time of night. The doors opened and we pressed the top floor. "This is going to be a while," Lola giggled then checked her watch.
We should make there just in time. "It's almost nine," Lola sigh, but I turned her head towards me and pecked her lips. "I'm calm now," she cheesed then laced her hand with mine. As soon as she kissed my hand, the doors to the elevator opened.
It was a very large office, and it overlooked the entire city. "Beautiful, right?" Someone said, making me turn and see two men holding hands. "It is. I'm Armoni and this is my wife, Lauren," I introduced while shaking their hands.
"Nice to meet you both. This is my husband Hayden and I'm Cory," he introduced. "Nice, this is your building, correct?" Lola asked as they walked us into the office more. "Yes, I hope you both are enjoying the city," Cory smiled as Hayden stared at the both of us with a cold look.
"Yes, it took us a while to get settled into our mansion close to the waters, but overall, it's been amazing," Lola giggled.
Hayden cleared his throat and looked towards his husband. "Right. What blood type do you prefer?" He asked. "O-negative," me and Lola said at the same time, making me look at her and smile.
Someone walked to us and held their wrist out. "O-negative, miss," he mumbled, looking at our feet. I slowly grabbed his wrist and bit into it. I pulled away and let out a hum. "A hint of alcohol. Would you like a taste, babe?" I asked my wife.
She turned my head to her and kissed me. She scrunched her nose as I stared at her in complete bewilderment. "No thank you. Strange alcohol," she mumbled then turned back to Cory like she didn't just taste the blood off of my lips.
"Cory does the same thing to me every time," Hayden suddenly spoke, making me laugh and rub the back of my neck. "It catches me off guard, but I would never complain," I laughed, watching him smile and nod his head.
"Sorry for the rude staring. I was just trying to figure you out and I'm usually the quiet one unless needed," he said as I glance to Lola. "Lola says I have a temper, but that's only when someone is being disrespectful to us or our colony," I reasoned.
"Wow, same! But he absolutely loves when I act out," he whispered.
I let out a low laugh, causing both of our significant others to turn towards us. "I'm surprise to see you talking to someone without me forcing you, babe," Cory chuckled then kissed him on the lips.
It was so cute because Hayden immediately started to blush. "And I'm surprise that you aren't being antisocial," Lola snickered. I raised an eyebrow and went to testify that I'm not antisocial, but she folded her arms and tilted her head. "You are antisocial. Now let's take a seat before the meeting start," she snickered.
"Sit next to us," Hayden hummed then pulled his husband towards the long table. We sat with them then watched everyone else take a seat. "Evening, everyone. Sorry we're late," the Avildsen couple said while making their way in.
"We're used to it by now, Avildsen," the woman of the Abara colony sigh. "Oh, I see we have new couples joining us. Are you the new Council couple?" The husband of the Avildsen asked.
Lola rubbed my thigh and let out a hum. "We are. I am Lauren Council, and this is my wife, Armoni Council," Lola introduced. "Alright, before we start this meeting. Let us all introduce ourselves to the new couples," I hear from the African couple.
"I'm Akuchi and this is my husband Chiamaka. It may be hard to say, but-" she started, but I sat up and cleared my throat. "Akuchi and Chiamaka Abara. Are you both from the Igbo tribe?" I asked, watching them both turn to me and smile.
"Yes, how did you know?" Her husband asked, looking very impressed. "Abara means 'spirit'. You both have lovely names," Lola complimented.
They thanked us and looked at each other before someone else spoke up. "Well, you already know our names. We are the Khan colony," Cory smiled. "Amazing," I mumbled then looked to the Korean couple.
"Oh, we're the Ho-Won couple. I am-" the woman started talking very slowly. "No need to struggle with English," Lola translated in Korean, making everyone turn to her with a bewildered look.
I didn't think that my wife could be hotter when speaking a different language. "You know Korean?" Her husband asked. "Yes, me and my wife agreed to learn your languages so everyone can speak comfortably. Wouldn't be fair if you learned English and we didn't understand your languages," she shrugged.
"But we will continue to speak in English like we always have," the husband of the Avildsen couple grunted. Everyone silently looked at them then back at us. I went to say something to them, but Lola quickly turned her head towards me.
"Don't, baby." She immediately shut down. Something told me to look at Hayden and I immediately saw him already looking at me with a smirk. "Hush." I said to him.
He leaned his head towards his husband then let out a low chuckle. "I am Ha Ho-Won, and this is my wife Song Ho-Won," her husband greeted. I nodded my head and smiled at the couple. "Very nice to meet you both," I greeted.
"I am Frank Avildsen, and this is my wife, Dorothy Avildsen," he introduced. I nodded my head and glanced to Lola to ease this tension.
"Nice to meet you both. Now that we are all acquainted. We can begin the meeting."
