Chapter 13

Stiles POV

Since the Alpha pack invaded our life I haven't had much time to just be with Derek. I miss the days where we could just lay in bed together or have a movie marathon or take a walk. I miss just being together. And I know we are together a lot but we're never alone. I'm sick of always being with the pack, I love them but frankly, I'm sick of them.

I can't sleep. I don't even know what time it is but it's the first time since the alpha pack became a threat that I've slept in my bed, alone.

My phone lit up shocking me because I know it has to be really early in the morning and literally everyone I know is sleeping.

I looked at it seeing Derek's name across my screen.

From: Bear
I'm really sorry if this wakes you up. It's 4:36 and all I can do is think about you.

I smiled at my phone. Believe it or not, Derek could be really sweet sometimes.

To: Bear
Come over? I can't sleep.

He didn't answer but minutes later I heard a tap at my window. I smiled getting up to open it. Derek crawled through hugging me.

"Hi." I whispered, wrapping my arms around him.

"Hi, babe." He replied, flopping us down onto my bed.

Derek POV

Since Stiles and I haven't had much time together I decided to take him out to lunch. I told him to pick anywhere he wanted. I didn't expect the place to be 4 fucking hours away. Stiles just smiled and kissed me getting in the passenger side of his Jeep. I sighed getting behind the wheel.

"You're lucky I love you."

"Love you too, Der."

Not even halfway into the drive Stiles started to fall asleep. His head was leaned against the window and he was slightly snoring. It was adorable.

When I got to the restaurant I woke Stiles up. He whined as I shook him but sat up.

"We're here." I told him. He jumped out of the car and waited for me to get out. I grabbed his hand and led him inside.

After we ordered I listened to Stiles go on and on about anything and everything.

"Babe," I said when he finally paused for a second. "I'll be right back." I said seeing him pout.

"What are you doing?" He whined.

"I just have to use the bathroom." I told him, getting up and pressing a kiss to his cheek.

While I was in the bathroom I listened to Stiles' heartbeat. It was a little higher than it should be but I knew he didn't like being alone in new places. When his heart rate got even higher is when I worried.

I walked back out to the table seeing two guys sitting there. One on either side of Stiles. I growled at them.

"Get. Away. From. Him." I snapped.

"Awh but Derek, he's so cute!" The one teased, wrapping his arm around my mate. I growled at him making his remove his arm.

"Chill, we're not here to ruin your date." The other started. "But, I can't promise we won't be back." He smiled getting up. As he walked away the other guy tried kissing Stiles' cheek making Stiles move away and whine. I pulled him away from Stiles and growled.

"Okay, I get it." He said, putting his hands up in surrender and walked away.

I sat next to Stiles pushing my face into his neck.

"You okay?" I asked.

"I am now." He said leaning into me. "A-are they going to come back?" He asked.

"Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me." I sighed. Stiles frowned. I kissed his cheek. "I'm sorry, babe. It happens when an Alpha finds his mate. I'd change it in a heartbeat if I could." I told him. He sighed putting his head on my shoulder.

I hate this. I hate that I can't stop other wolves. I hate that Stiles has to go through this. I want it to stop,
