Stiles POV

I know it wasn't my fault. But it felt like it was. I should've been able to fight him. I'm not a kid, I'm not human. I should've been able to defend myself. I feel like I let Derek down, it's all my fault. I probably deserved to be treated how I was. I'm a failure of a wolf.

I walked downstairs to see the entire pack sitting around in the kitchen. Derek was leaning against one of the counters. I felt Scott touch my shoulder.

"You okay Stiles?" He asked. I pulled away from him.

"Fine, just..don't touch me. Please." I said quietly.

"Sorry." I gave him a small smile before moving over to cling myself to Derek. Derek makes me feel better, I feel safe with him. Derek wrapped his arms around me and kissing my head. The pack continued their topic on one of the stupid projects we had for school. I was partnered with Scott. Normally, when I'm with Scott I end up doing all the work but right now a couldn't care less if I had a couple zeros in the grade book.

"Babe, you okay?" Derek whispered in my ear. I shook my head attempting to bury my face further into his neck. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"No," I mumbled, "just hold me." He tightened his grip around me.

"Okay."

Derek POV

Stiles woke me up the next morning earlier than ever. The sun was just coming up.

"What's wrong?" I asked yawning.

"Can you work out with me?" He asked.

"You're working out? Before school?" I asked. Stiles has never been one to exercise unless he was forced or it was for lacrosse-and even then he would slack off-so to say I was confused was an understatement.

"Yeah." he mumbled.

"What kind of work out are you talking about?" I asked him. He shrugged.

"You always do something in the morning."

"I run every morning?" I replied.

"Then lets do that." He said. I yawned looking at the time. Being awake at 5am shouldn't be a thing. "Please?" he whined.

I nodded, sighing. "Just give me a minute." I told him. He nodded sitting on the bed waiting.

We got outside and Stiles looked hesitant. "You okay?"

"Don't leave me in the dust. I'm not as fast as you." He mumbled.

"Why would I do that?" He shrugged moving toward me. He pushed up onto his tiptoes and placed a kiss on my lips. "Ready?"

He nodded. "Maybe."

We made it back giving Stiles plenty of time to get ready for school. He came down after a shower, sitting at the island in the kitchen.

"What's the sudden urge to workout about?" I asked making him and Isaac breakfast. He shrugged sipping on his orange juice. Isaac walked out shortly after, yawning. He sat down next to Stiles. I filled two plates for them. Isaac mumbled a tired "thanks" and Stiles smiled.

It's shitty to see my mate like this. He's supposed to be happy but something was ripped away from him. Something he shouldn't have ever had to go through and I understand how hard it is. I want him to talk to me, to open up just a little bit. But, I can't force him to do that and I don't know if he ever will open up about it. I still haven't really opened up about my experience and that was over 10 years ago.

I dropped both Isaac and Stiles off. Stiles requested I drive him even though I told him he could drive himself if he wanted. It took him a few minutes to get out.

He leaned over kissing me. "I love you." He said.

"I love you too, Stiles" I reassured him as I kissed him again. He got out of the car and I watched as he walked toward the school. "Hey, Isaac?" I started as he was getting out.

"Yeah?" He said.

"Can you just..keep an eye on him throughout the day?" I asked. He nodded.

"See you later, Derek."

As soon as Isaac and Stiles climbed back into my car after school Stiles opened his mouth. "Do you think I could convince my dad that home school is the best option for me?" he asked.

"Why?" I questioned pulling out of the school's parking lot.

"No reason..." He mumbled. I glanced at Isaac in the back who shrugged and focused back on his phone.

"Can we train when we get back?" Stiles asked. I nodded "If you really want to." I know there is something going on.

"I do." He replied.

"Scott and I were supposed to train after school." Isaac chimed in.

"You still will pup." I said seeing a small smile creep onto his face when I called him 'pup' before he nodded.

Whatever is going on I feel like it's my responsibility to figure out. I don't need my baby falling into a downward spiral against himself again.
