Chapter 10: Everest's Karma

Chase immediately got out of the scene after Skye's unintentional rage. He was left confused and a little baffled as to why she was mad. It's not like it's his or her fault for sleeping together last night,or neither of them planned to do it anyway. He's alright with it though,maybe he'll just talk to her next time. As for now,maybe he can play with the other pups while Marshall and Everest are going on a "date".

"Hmm,I wonder what I'm going to do first...?" Chase thought to himself. And just as he was about to sit down with boredom,Ryder came back home along with Rocky and Rubble.

"Hey there Chase!" Ryder said.

"Hello there,Ryder sir!" Chase said in a serious tone as Ryder scratched his head.

"Hey Chase!" Rocky and Rubble said as they get off their respective vehicles.

"Hey guys." Chase said as Rocky and Rubble are getting closer.

"Alright guys,I'm going to check upstairs in case another emergency happens. For now,get some rest." Ryder said as he walks away and into the lookout.

"See ya!" The three pups said.

"So Chase? Have you heard that Katie was planning something for all of us next week?" Rubble asked.

"No,I haven't. What do you think it is?" Chase answered.

"It better not be water..." Rocky said as his legs shivered just thinking about it,which made Chase and Rocky giggle a little bit.

"Haha,don't worry,it's not water." Rubble said,nudging Rocky's side,which gave Rocky a relief.

"Okay,anyways,let's keep it a secret so everyone will be surprised." Chase said as he runs out to look for Marshall and Everest.

"Okay Chase! See ya!" Rocky and Rubble said as they were unpacking their pup packs.

Meanwhile...

Ryder was busy finishing some things at the lookout and noticed the pillow that Chase and Skye slept on last night.

"Hmm,I forgot to ask Skye about this.... I will not interfere on this until it's time." Ryder thought to himself as he took the pillow away,but suddenly-

*ring ring ring*

"Oh,the phone." Ryder said and he picked it up.

"Hello,Ryder here,how can we help you?" Ryder said,but was followed with a giggle from 'someone far but familiar'(HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I BEEN USING THIS PHRASE ON MY BOOKS?! 2?! 3?! Whatever...)

"Oh hi there,your Majesty!" Ryder said.

"Hehe,no need,Ryder. I just called to let you know something." It was the Princess of Barkingburg on the phone.

"What is it?" Ryder asked.

"Tomorrow,there will be a celebration in the palace,and I want to invite you and the PAW Patrol! Can you come please?" The princess said.

"We'd love to,your Majesty! But what about Sweetie?" Ryder asked... Sweetie is anything but "sweet". She'd think of ways to steal the crown and basically everything she wants. Ryder has a feeling that Sweetie might ruin the celebration,knowing that it's her lucky day to steal the crown.

"Oh don't worry about her! She's told me clear that she wasn't going anywhere near to it,and if she does,I'll keep her in her puphouse for the rest of the day." The princess reassured Ryder.

"Oh okay." Ryder said.

"I'll meet you tomorrow,bye!" The princess said,hanging up afterwards.

"Alright,I'm going to tell the pups about this later." Ryder said and continued cleaning up the lookout.

The next scenes will mostly be Marshall and Everest's so-called "date"(or whatever you call it). Goodluck not getting the cooties after this.

"Hey Everest,look! I can stand on my nose!" Marshall said,which made Everest giggle.

"Marshall,be careful." Everest said,still giggling,but Marshall already fell flat on his face.

"Oof.... Well this is one benefit of being a cartoon character." Marshall said.

"What's a 'cartoon character'?" Everest asked.

"No breaking the fourth wall! This is a book,not an animation software! (uh oh)"

"Hey,who was that?" Everest asked.

"I don't know,but I guess he knows about the real- *muted*

"Huh?" Everest says "huh".

"Anyways,let's go visit some more places." Marshall said,happily skipping his legs on the beat of a random tune playing in the background (Geez Allen,stop making fourth wall breaks on someone else's book!)

"Okay,Marshall! Wait for me!" Everest said.

So they spend the whole afternoon chasing butterflies,eating pup food from the kids who adore them,watching clouds,and playing ball on the beach,and now they were planning on watching a horror movie at night. I had to write this quickly to stop myself from making fourth wall bre- oh i already did it... Anyways,onto the book!

Chase was walking around feeling a little confused about what Skye said.

Flashback...

"Uh Skye?" Chase asked.

"CHASE! GET OUT! I'M TRYING TO FORGET ABOUT YOU-"

Flashback ends...

"What did I even do? Was she upset at me for sleeping with her last night? Great,now you've done it,Chase! You messed up so much last night complimenting her 'cute' paws,and now you messed it up even more on the Pup-pup-boogie game AND slept with her! Ugh,if you were real,I would've punched you,but then I would realized that I would be punching myself....(LOL) I hope I can clear things up with her tomorrow...." Chase was having a battle with his own mind,when he suddenly heard screams from Marshall and Everest behind a bush.

"Hey what's going on here?" Chase asked as he saw Everest shivering in fear and Marshall laughing.

"Oh hi Chase! Me and Everest are watching her favorite horror movie,'The Predator of Mt. Everest'!" Marshall said.

"I don't understand why I started to feel more scared of this movie. I mean,I've been watching this since I was younger,so why am I afraid now?!" Everest thinks to herself.

"Okay???" Chase said,walking away.

"PAW Patrol,to the lookout!" Ryder said.

"Ryder needs us!" said all of the pups.

"Whew... atleast I don't need to worry about Marshall scaring me." Everest said in her thoughts.
