I walk down a long white hallway, doors on both sides. I reach the end of the hall and press the down button on the elevator. I wait for the elevator. I check the packet once more. My eyes scan over the front page of the packet. Her name is Riku Mae. She is 19, even though she looks quite a bit younger. The reason she is here.....I can't seem to find it. Oh well. I will figure out later. I have to go meet her.
The elevator doors open up and I enter, pushing the button to level 47. The elevator moves downward as I wait. I leave and walk down the hall. It is much darker down here. It is almost the bottom level, the level with the most insane is the bottom. It gets less intense the higher the levels go. I scan the room numbers for number 47-17. I find it. Here goes nothing.
I open the door and walk in. The room is small, the walls padded. A white light seems to come from nowhere. She is sitting in a chair in the middle of the room, facing away from the door.
"Good Morning Miss Mae, I am Dr. Gr-" I am cut off by her voice.
"Are you going to make me take those funny blue happy pills?" She asks mockingly. Where ever she was last, they tried to put her on antidepressants.
"Of course not Miss Mae, That is not how I work." I assure her.
"Good, because I refuse to take them....They just make the voices louder.." She says.
"Voices?" It's not the first time I have met someone with voices in there heads. I don't want to pry too hard though, I won't make her answer anything unless she wants to.
"of course, why do you think I am in this mad house?!" She says angrily. I need to keep calm.
"Rika, can I call you Rika?" I ask politely.
"Well that is my name!"
"Ok...Rika....Could you turn around and face me please?"
"Maybe I would, If I wasn't fucking tied up!!" She yells. I walk around the room so I face her. She is in a straight jacket.
"oh...I see. How long?"
"2 months. I am bound by this for 2 freaking months."
"It's fine. could you look up to me?" I ask. This is basics. I need her to look at me and be able to recognize me. She lifts her head and meets my gaze. Her green eyes pierce my own. The look of insanity is in her eyes.
"Thank you, Rika. I appreciate your cooperation."
"don't expect it, Mr. Grey. I don't like people."
"If you cooperate, you might be able to leave sooner."
"LEAVE?!?!" She laughs manically. "I'm not leaving this Fucking place!! They are never going to let me leave after what I did!!" She struggles in her bindings. She makes a attempt to hurt me, but the jacket keeps her down. I slowly leave the room.
"I'll be back, and when I do, let's have a real conversation, alright. Nice meeting you, Rika Mae." I say as I leave the room. The moment the door latches closed, her screaming and struggling is muted.
"That went surprisingly well" I say to myself. Normally I can't get them to look at me for a week or more. I think This will work, I can help her. I make my way to the elevator and go to ground level. I walk to my office. A small room with a window big enough to crawl out off. i sit at my desk and spill the contents of the envelope on the top. I dig for the reason of entrance page. I find it, pulling it from the pile. My eyes scan the page for the answer I am looking for.
Why is she here? Why is she in level 47? What did she do? I find it. She murdered her best friend...She is insane......She tried killing other people that she knew very well....The only thing the paper doesn't answer is why? Why did she do that? did she have a reason? maybe I will find out in the future....hopefully.
