Falling in love is weird. In most cases you meet a total stranger, get to know them and eventually fall in love with that person. It could be an amazing experience or the most gut wrenching experience that you want to erase from your mind forever. For James and Desha it was one of the best experiences that could have ever happened to them. Meeting for the first time was fate bringing them together.

During the holidays, the Days spent their time being selfless and giving back to their community and to the ones in need. It was a priority in the Day family that each one of them was to be in attendance and help out every year at the charity event held by Gianna and Bazyli at the children's orphanage in Brooklyn. It was a great way to spend time with one another and help the ones in need. During the event there were gifts being donated, games for the children to play, food and drinks, and just great company for the children at the orphanage.
The event started at 10a.m and would end around 2:30 pm and time was going very slow. Don't get it wrong, Desha loved helping out and bringing smiles to the kids at the orphanage, what she didn't like was that her parents always made them dress up for the event. Mr. and Mrs. Day were always Santa Claus and Mrs.Claus while Desha and her little brothers were stuck being the "helpers" aka little elves/ elf on the shelf. It was definitely an outfit no sixteen year old wanted to wear and she couldn't wait to get out of the costume.
"And see, you toss it just like this" Desha says as she demonstrates the ring toss game to the little five year old boy.
"Like this?!" he says eagerly as he tosses it too hard and miss
"A little more gentle"
"I will never get this right" he pouts
"Aww cheer up bud, you got this!"
As Desha is helping the child with the ring toss game her mother comes over.
"Hey, Dee I need you to cover my spot at the gift assortment table. I have to help your Dad with the Santa pictures"
Desha agreed and gave the little boy more encouragement as she left to go to the gift station to help out.
"Oh hey Dee, you are helping out over here?" Samara, one of the volunteer workers asked her
"Hey yeah, what do you need me to do?"
"You can take that side over there and start by grouping the toys by ages. I take the older kids you take the younger ones"
"Got it!" she says as she gets to work
"So what have you been up to?"
"Oh nothing just going to school and writing in my spare time"
