A/N: mood for the chapter:

November 15, 2022

Desha felt that her head was going to explode. She was currently sitting at her desk inside her home office doubled over with her hands on head trying to calm herself down.

"Breathe. Breathe Desha"

She mumbled to herself. She felt that the walls were closing in on her and the air in her lungs were giving out on her. It was becoming hard for her to breathe. These past few weeks have been draining her mentally and physically, she was drowning in her fears. Keeping this secret was making her sick to her stomach and she could feel herself falling into depression. Of course she wasn't to come clean, but she was so afraid of what the outcome would be. She wished she could just forget it happened but she knew that wouldn't happen, especially since a certain someone was still trying to reach out to her.

*Flashback to last week*

Desha had been at the cafe allday, no, actually all week trying to drown herself in work so that she wouldn't have to think. Taking on things her assistant could have handled.

She was now on a zoom call with Amancio Banks, the interior designer who helped her design the interior spaces of the Bookholic Cafes. They were currently discussing the newest location that would be in Cordonia.

"We've also ran into a small problem"

Desha raises an eyebrow at Amancio

"How small?"

"The cream colored lounge couches that we ordered are now in backorder until April of 2023"

"What?? How?"

"They said that they someone in the warehouse miscounted inventory"

"So? That's not our problem! I will not pushback my opening because someone doesn't know how to count properly"

Desha says, rolling her eyes

"No worries, my assistant and I have been searching high and low trying to find replacements. We won't stop until we get them"

"Thank you. Please keep me updated"

"Will do"

And with that she ends the zoom call. Desha throws her head back and blows out an air of frustration.

"You seem frustrated"

Startled at hearing the voice, Desha jumps from her seat looking up towards the door where the voice was coming from.

"Zig..."

"You've been avoiding me"

He shuts the door to the office and walks further into the room

What are you doing here?"

"We need to talk. I mean, I figured I would give you your space but its been weeks"

"We don't need to talk about anything"

He takes a step closer to her and she takes a step back

"I can't do this with you right now"

"Why? You've been pushing me away"

"Because I have to Zig!"

She says raising her voice slightly, catching herself off guard
