"This is the worst thing that's ever happened to me," George sighed and blew his nose. Joe never knew anyone that got as pumped up for Christmas as George Luz did.
Joe remembers so clearly his first Christmas dating George and how the day after Halloween George had all of his Christmas decorations up and his assortment of Glee Christmas playlists playing.
George had a whole shelving system dedicated to ceramic Christmas trees to match his real Christmas tree.
Growing up Joes family never did much for Christmas they'd get together at his Grandma and Grandpas house and eat Arroz con gandules and other Puerto Rican foods his grandma would make. Then they'd go to a midnight mass and call it good.

George on the other hand. The Luz family was large and they always went big.
Mr and Mrs. Luz had won a few outdoor Christmas decoration awards for their excessive lights and fun decorations.
George loved Christmas he loved the weather, giving gifts, baking, and eating.
So George grew up a Christmas fanatic.
George occasionally made Joe dress up as Santa for his younger siblings.
But this year George was sick. Like super sick. He had the flu.
This was the worst thing George could imagine happening. On the 22nd George had some sinus pressure on the 23rd George woke up full on congested and coughing. Later that day George was throwing up the little he had eaten.
After a teary phone call with his mom it was decided George and Joe would be doing Christmas together in their small house they'd shared since they married.

"George we can go see your family as soon as your feeling better. Here take more of these." Joe frowned sitting next to his husband and handing him some tea and cold pills.

"I know i just," he paused swallowing the far too large Orange, gel capsules, "You know how I feel about Christmas."

"I know Georgie," Joe ran his hand through George's messy brown hair. So now the two spent Christmas Eve George's mom dropped off some food and so did Joes mom, "At least we can have some good food later."

"If I don't throw it up," George frowned sinking down further in the couch.

"We'll just eat little bits at a time to not upset your stomach. Do you wanna watch Elf? Or we could watch the Glee Christmas episodes? Maybe even Die Hard?"

"Die Hard is not a Christmas movie," George stifled a laugh trying to pout as he looked at Joe.

"Die Hard is too a Christmas movie, it's me and Bills favorite." Joe giggled.

"Oh we're gonna miss Bills amazing Christmas spaghetti," George whined turning his head into Joes chest.

"Because you're sick on Christmas Eve doesn't mean we can't go see our friends and family in a few days when you're better and hassle them for leftovers." Joe rubbed George's back.

"You're right Joe," George nodded and wiped his nose with the back of his hand.
"Well if it's about nine?" Joe checked his apple watch, "We can put Elf on, take a little nap and have lunch?"
"Why're we structuring the day?" George looked up at Joe, meeting his brown eyes.
"We don't have to," Joe shrugged and kissed the top of George's head.
"Can we take a bath?" George hummed. Joe nodded, both of them climbing off the couch, George's feet dragging slightly. He had been feeling like he had been hit by a truck all morning and he honestly wished he could just curl up into Joe and sleep till he was healed. George had taken all kinds of medicines to get rid of it fast but it wasn't budging. Hell, he had even used some of Gene's herbal healings and crystals. It made everyone laugh when they found out Gene was super into Pagan ritualistic healing yet he was a doctor. But for Gene it was also a religious thing but it still earned laughs.
"Do you wanna pick out some clean pajamas for us? Why I start a bath?" Joe peaked his head out of the bathroom joined into the room. George nodded and opened their walk in closet and began opening drawers looking for their matching pajamas. Joe turned the faucet on finding the right temperature and then adding in some bath salts that were good for when you were sick and one of the matching bath bombs. George came into the bathroom and set the matching holiday pj's on the counter.
"Do you want me to join you in the tub?" Joe asked. George grabbed a tissue off the counter top and blew his nose trying to nod at the same time.
Joe smiled and pulled his shirt off, George tossed the tissue away and stripped. Joe did the same removing his leg and sitting on the edge of the tub lowering himself in. George waited and then climbed in, laying in between Joe's legs.
"It's helping my tummy already,"Joe leaned his head back.
"I'm glad, we'll get you some vapo rub after." Joe snickered.
"You and your fuckin' vapo rub," George's lips turned up and he shook his head. They lived and loved for each others stupid little quirks.
"It works, Ma knows it all and it has always worked for me and my sisters." Joe smiled and defended himself.
