"I wake up." Said Leon. "I'm at school. I'm in IT club. With Piper."
"Yea." Piper nodded. "I was showing you my school."
"Yea. Yea and I went, I remember now."That morning the four hatched their plan in the field between the towns.
Sayle and Rowan were in Pennar, buying soap and gunpowder and human fat probably. The plan was to blow the building up.
Of course more thought was put into it: they were going to evacuate the building with a fire, and blow it up before the firemen arrived from the town over, because as you must know by now, there're nothing in Santana Park. That night each of the kids had a similar dream. That of a wooden door frame made of three thin straight branches. But where this door was was different for each of them.
The morning dawned and no sign of trouble came that they noticed.
Piper and Leon downloaded a virus from a school computer and tested it on Lucys laptop, which broke down, then caught fire.
"Cool." Piper said and threw the laptop out.By now Sayle was the only one whos eyes weren't faded black with makeup, so Piper fixed and off the two teams went.
"You remember when we went to Cardiff with Dad?" Sayle brought up. "Me and Flynn had one bed, you and Dad had the other."
"Yea kinda, what was that, like ten years ago?"
"No dude. Just. Felt like that. Now. This morning."
"Are you okay?" Rowan laughed. "I'm not... someone to talk to... if you're going through something."
"You just... someone to buy human fat with?"
"Yea." Rowan smiled. From one side the door showed more doors, one after the other, but from the other end it didn't show anything.
"Everyday I wake up." Leon woke up. "I'm at school? In the dorms? But we don't have dorms. I wake up. Go to school. Someone's got a hexagon garden, how long does it take to moe? I wake up. I go to school. I get the boat. I wake up again. The lawnmowers out of charge. I wake up. Now I'm here."
"Well if it's a computer we need to understand understand it." Piper says. The two were at hers researching."Mum? Lucy?" Piper asked around her house. No one was there, but they were in the kitchen.
"Mum?" She asked.
"Hey darling."
By now Lucy had been done filming. A second series was on the way but she had a while yet to wait.
"Listen." Her mother began. "You said your friend was aloud to stay here. His brother came by-"
"Oh, Sayle, ye, he found us it's all cool."
"Sayle."
"Sayle Aboat, like sailing, Rowan and Sayle."
"Rowan your friend?"
"No Rowan the mailman."
"She's lying again." Lucy remarked.
"I'm going again."
"Liar."
"Drop out."
"Drop out!"
"Girls!" Their mother stopped them.
"Failed actress." Piper got out before escaping, bumping into Leon just around the corner, who she pushed back to her room."Were you listening to all that?" Piper asked.
"Yes. No." Said Leon. "I don't know what you want me to say."
They had two usbs between them and went to meet Rowan and Sayle in the field behind Depingo. The brothers made twenty-odd containers of explosives with times, because they were only smart when they wanted to be, or when it was related to something illegal.
At least Sayle finished secondary school. Granted he failed most subject but he could have got As if he wanted to. On the other hand Rowan left in year nine.It stood in the middle of the world. Exactly in the middle. And Rowan, Sayle, Piper and Leon all stood between Pennar and Santana Park.
Each in dark costumes and face paint.
"Sayle needs more." Rowan said. "How much can we put on you before it becomes black-face?"
"Shut up." Sayle laughed. They waited for the sun to set and watched the sky to find lines on its grid.
Sayle felt Santana Park getting to him, or maybe it was because he now knew the sky was fake, or maybe it was something else, but it didn't feel the same. It wasn't the bright blue sky he knew before.
