Rowan had left Spring Valley in year nine. He had gone to Santana Park, which was common knowledge amongst people who knew him for one reason: that's where Piper was.
She and Rowan were very close and I'm sure you know the rest.

Like Sayle asked about, Rowan had a run in with the clocks, which led him to learn the truth about the sky he failed to tell anyone else about. Piper knew as she was there when they saw it, along with Micheal and Kate but Rowan thought about them as much as they appear in this story.
What he was actually doing in Santana Park was singing. He and Piper decided to tell the truth through songs and played at the only bar in town.

Santana Park was a town where nothing was. Which was why Sayle and Leon were drawn to the only thing happening. It was called The Trick To Life. A seminar with promises of eternal happiness and an answer for nostalgia.
Rowan and Piper spent a lot of time in her room planning and putting into action, a way to sneak in and discover what it was really about the put it into a song, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

Over the weeks they came down a few people in suits approached the two kids trying to convince them to stop playing. Of course they didn't listen but God knows how it scared them.

The morning Sayle and Leon were on the train Rowan and Piper had a run in with a suited man again, this time behind the bar.
"Come to our meeting Saturday evening. We can discuss a label for you. We recorded a song of yours and showed Erwin, he really likes you guys. Take my card. Hope to see you there."

"Who's Erwin?" Rowan tried to laugh. But it was pointless. Now they had stopped trying to fight them, they dreaded to think what awaited them if they went, but they had the brains not to.

Back in the present, Sayle and Leon had a wonder after seeing Ms Pan, where Leon kept edging towards The Trick To Life.
"Doesn't it look fun?"
"No." Sayle sighed, although he agreed to some extent he felt it would ruin his reputation. He eventually let Leon drag him inside.

There was tarp for a door and then, immediately, the scene changed like the sun went out. Fire lit the walls and crowds cheered in what might have been hundreds of voices, they couldn't tell. Then seats opened up for the two and they went to see who was talking, over the heads of every row in front of course.
"-a car, as fast as any! Ney! After any vehicle, I say!" The speaker ranted.
"What's he on about?" Leon laughed.
"Oh feel my heart friend! Said the healer, but he who had no heart himself!"
"I have no idea." Sayle shrugged.
"Shh!" Someone turned to say, with such aggression I'll add thatthe kids said nothing else until they were dragged away.

Which would happen after a few minutes of absolute nonsense from the speaker (although Leon liked it). Luckily they were on the back row, then they each felt a hand grab theirs but no one was behind them. Then a hard tug, and over their seats and out the door they went.
Only when they caught themselves did they see it was who they had came for, Rowan, along with Piper.

"Dude?-s?" Rowan laughed. "What are you doing here?"
"We were looking for you!" Sayle pushed him.
"In The Trick To Life?"
"Well Santana Park."
"How'd you know to look here? Oh, I'm Piper, by the way."
"Ye- no- well actually because of you." Sayle explained. "I knew you'd be fine, and Leon knew you'd be here, but Mum's not shut up about you!"
"Shut up." Rowan denied.
"Really!
"What about Dad?"
"..."
"You haven't seen him."
"I haven't seen him no. But Mum's been on me about it you gotta phone her."
"I don't have a phone."
"Use mine."
"No way man, think of the lecture she's got worked up! You phone her. Tell her I'm fine."
"You do it!"
"Odds on, out of seven."
"Three, two, one-"
Then they both said 'three'.

Sayle went around the corner to phone Amy.
"Are you going to school here?" Leon asked.
"Do you need to ask that?" Rowan smirked.
"What you doing then?"
He and Piper shared some funny looks until Rowan answered.
"Not much."

"Where's your brother he's been gone quite a while." Said Piper.
"He's probably getting the lecture of a lifetime." Rowan joked.
But he hadn't come back in too long, and finally when they decided to check on him he had gone. Then around the other side of the building and back around to the front.
Leon called him and his phone went off in the grass, where he was just moments ago.
