Its been three weeks since the boys went to Harpers to gather more information. The girls and I have been home for about two weeks now and this past week we've been living in the fuckin sticks waiting for this damn train to come by that's supposedly harboring spies from the Edens. Everyone has been on edge and at each others throats. But what do you expect when you shove 7 people into a dinky cabin in the middle of nowhere.
Michael puffs on his cigarette, burning daggers into Ivys face, "You're testing me Ivy," he says gritting his teeth.
Ivy snaps her gaze back over to him while she stirs her cup of coffee, "I thought you liked when I tested you?" She says before tossing the spoon onto the counter and snatching her cup up before walking around the edge of the table. Michael continues to stare ar his wife, clenching his jaw with fire growing in his eyes.
Anna and I sit there and exchange a glance between each other before I casually bring my mug up to my lips and continue to read the decades old newspaper in my hand that I found stashed in a drawer.
"Oi there he is," Aurthur says holding out a glass of whiskey to Lewis, "Here you go, a Shelby breakfast for you son," He says holding it out to his brother as Lewis takes the glass from him.
Lewis takes a seat at the table, "Thats enough Ivy...go on. This meeting doesn't involve you," He says before peeling his gaze up to Ivys icy one. "Any of you," He says lowly grazing his eyes over Anna and I.
"I think some fresh air is what the three of you need, don't you think Cora?" Thomas says tapping his cigarette on the table before putting it in his mouth.
"I mean I fuckin guess. If you wanted us to leave just fuckin say it," I say slamming the paper down. "I think we need to get away from the three little fuckin pigs anyway," I say.
"Before you three leave," Thomas says raising his eyes, "How are the bets going with the new system you have produced? We haven't had the chance to talk about it yet and it slipped my mind until now."
Ivy slips her arms through her coat, "Word has it that the stallion Monarch is going to win. We have no bloody record of that name so we have Danny looking into it while we're doing this shit show with you," she says before zipping it up and grabbing a scarf.
"There's plenty of time until the races Iv, it'll be alright. Besides, we won triple the last one when Cora flirted her way to get that man to keep betting," Anna says as she puts her gloves on.
"I have a magic touch, what can I say?" I say with a cocky attitude as I finish buttoning my coat and adjust my gloves.
Thomas nods looking between each of us, "Good, good. That'll be all for now," he says before taking a seat at the small table with his brothers.
"Yes your majesty," I say rolling my eyes before grabbing the shotgun against the wall and walk out of the cabin with the girls behind me.
"I'm fuckin cold and miserable and I smell like one of Aurthurs fuckin whores," Ivy says as she pulls her hood up and tramples through the mud, "I can't take this shit anymore."
"Alright alright just relax," I say walking down the half assed trail to the edge of the woods facing the tracks. "As soon as this train comes and we blow it up we'll be on our way home," I say taking a seat on a tree stump.
"I'll be fuckin blown away if this train is real," Anna says before reaching in her pocket and pulling out a cigarette. "All I know is I can't fuckin wait to sleep in my bed," she says lighting it and bringing it to her lips and taking a drag off of it. She looks up at the sky as the white fluffy snow gently falls, "Christmas is comin too, so I'm also excited for that."
