You and William were set to meet again today.
An excited, ecstatic even, feeling established its presence with a tight feeling in your chest. A good tight, though. Like a squeezing, rib crushing hug from your favorite family member you hadn't seen in a while.
The warmth that came with that kind of hug accompanied the feeling, too.
You pulled yourself up and out of bed, checking the time and then walking to the bathroom. You had around 6 hours to get ready and to the restaurant.
You looked into the mirror and started brushing your hair. Once it was all brushed out, you moved on to washing your face.
You honestly didn't know why you cared this much about how you looked around him, but it was honestly whatever. After you were done with that, you moisturized your face and brushed your teeth. You then put on chapstick and did your hair.
Afterward, you walked out of your small bathroom and to your closet. You pulled out a black tee, baggy jeans, and a dark brown flannel for your outfit(A/N:if you want, it can be more feminine!).
You then walked over to your full body mirror, looking at your outfit. You looked pretty good, in your opinion. You got your shoes and put them on.
Then you left your room to get something to eat. You poured some coffee and made it just how you liked it. You were too lazy to make a full-on meal, so you just poured yourself a bowl of cereal. You ate and checked the time again. You were fine on time; it was around noon.
You finished eating, and then you just turned on the TV to kill some time.
After a bit, you checked the time again. It was 12:45. You had just enough time to get there. You clicked the power button on your TV and stood up from your seat. You grabbed your keys and stepped out the door..
Once you got there, you parked your car and got out. You walked in and saw William sitting at one of the booths. He waved you over, and you hurried to him and sat down. He looked happy to see you. He had a small smile on his face and a look in his eyes you couldn't quite place. "How've you been?" William asked.
"Good. You?" You said in return. "Great, actually." He said with a huff. "What have you been up to recently?" You didn't really like small talk, but whatever. "Nothing much. Just work and stuff. What about you?" You sighed and smiled. "Nothing, really. I've been writing a bit."
"Oh, that's cool. Do you write original stories or?" He asked with a curious tone in his voice. "Yeah. Haven't gotten anything published yet, though." You answered, shrugging. "Hey, I've been thinking, you wanna go somewhere else for a change? We've only ever talked here. I'm at this place enough already!" He finished in a joking voice. You chuckled at his antics. "Sure, we can hang out somewhere else." He smiled. "Let's get going then, eh?" You nodded. He stood up, and you followed after him.
You two walked to the door and out of the restaurant. "So where do you want to go, Will?" You said, looking at him. "I don't know. Do you know any good restaurants? I got the bill." He offered. "Oh yeah. There's ***** not too far from here."
"Let's go there then. I'll drive us both and then drop you off so you can pick up your car if it's okay with you." He planned. "Sure!" You replied with a grin. "Very well then." He said, returning a smile.
You followed him to his car. It was gorgeous. It was a dark purple Chevy Impala, and it looked like it was just recently cleaned. There wasn't a single imperfection on the paint. "Are you gonna get in or what?" He said playfully with an eyebrow raised and a smirk, snapping you out of your trance."Nope. I'm just gonna stand here." You replied with a grin matching his joking mood. "Then I guessed I'll just leave you here, and you can use your own gas." He shrugged. "Wait! No, I'm too poor for that!" He won this one. "Well, that's really too bad." He said with a fake sincere look.
"You're such a jerk." He huffed out a laugh. "I know." He smirked. "Hurry up and get in. We don't have all day."
"Fine." You walked over to the passenger side door and opened it, sliding into the car. It had black leather seats and an entirely black interior. This was such a nice car. Damn, he must get paid a lot.
You two arrived at the restaurant pretty quickly. It was a small diner. You both got out of the car and walked to the front of the restaurant. He opened the door and held it for you. "You're such a flatterer."
"Maybe I am. Just hurry up and walk in." He joked. You walked in as slowly as you could. "Wow." He gently pushed you through the doorway. "Was that really necessary?" He closed his eyes with a smile.
"Absolutely." You just deadpanned at him. "Okay." You said sarcastically, straightening up. He then walked through the door, closing it behind him. You both walked to the front counter. The diner wasn't very busy, so you'd probably get a table relatively quickly. "Table for two?" The receptionist asked. "Mhm." William replied. "Follow me."
You two got to your table and sat down. The waitress quickly brought over menus. "I'll be back soon. You two love birds!" You felt blood rush to your face immediately. "O-oh, we're not together..!" Her eyes widened, and she flushed from embarrassment. "Oh, I'm so sorry for assuming!"
"No, no, you're fine.." You said quietly, the red slowly retreating from your face. "I'll be on my way." You looked to William. He was looking at the floor with a slight, barely noticeable pink on his face that you probably wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't spent so much time with him.
After a bit, a new waiter came to the table. "Your old waitress and I switched tables, by the way. She's really sorry. Anyway, what would you two like to drink?"
"I'll have a glass of unsweetened tea. Y/n?" He notioned to you. "I'll just have a glass of water." The waiter said, "Alright then." And jotted down your drinks, then left.
You and William were kind of just sitting there in uncomfortable silence. The waiter came back with your drinks. "Unsweet tea and water. Do you both know what you'd like?"
After you two ordered, your food conversation sparked up again. William told you about how he helped make the animatronics for his job. That was interesting.
You told him about some of your stories. Then the waiter brought you your food, you two ate and were on your way-after paying, of course-to the car. You got in the car and looked over to William. "That was nice. Thank you."
"It's no problem." He said genuinely.
You smiled at that.
