"Neville?"
Neville gave me a look of surprised that matched mine. "What are you doing here Y/N?"
'Oh my Merlin' I thought to myself quickly. 'He knows my name."
I didn't understand why I so surprised he knew my name. I was friends with Hermonie and Ron, and I talked to Harry frequently even though we weren't the closest. But still my heart started thumping with excitement.
'Wait why is my heart racing?' I shook my head waving those thoughts away quickly. But when my eyes met his I felt my body stiffen and heat rushed through my cheeks.
'What's happening?' I questioned myself, feeling my nerves jangle. 'It must be because he surprised me.' I reasoned and my body considerably calmed down.
"No what are you doing here?" I shot back a smirk danced on my lips.
"Some would call this a cliff, but I would call this my thinking space." He sat down next to me, looking wistfully at the stars.
I couldn't help but stare at him, he looked so mesmerizing in the moonlight. Even in the dark his eyes were crystal clear and alive. Sparkles of light cascaded off them and peeked through his furrowed brows. His dark waves looked so fluffy and his nose looked so cute- 'Y/N pull your self together!' I mentally slapped myself.
If he caught me staring he didn't show it, his eyes never moved from the night sky. His lips pursed in deep thought.
"Hey Y/N, you know what's so cool about the stars? It's that most of them have died billions of years ago but they still shine so brightly, leaving a legacy of light." The corners of his lips twitched up in admiration.
"I want to be like that, I want the world to show the world what I have to offer. But I'm just so afraid. Every move I make I doubt and second guess. I want to be strong I just don't know how." He sighed his eyes brows sunk even deeper.
"Oh Merlin! I don't know why I'm telling you this!" He stammered, stumbling over his words.
"It must be the air of Hogsmead or the night sky I didn't mean to get so worked up!" He continued mumbling fiddling with his hands. He's cheeks grew hot and he looked away.
I giggled at his shyness finding it refreshing. He has so many different sides to him that I didn't even realize. I wanted to find them all, to explore them, to talk for hours. 'Y/N calm down, you just met him.' I reasoned with myself.
"Why are you laughing, did I make it that awkward?" He looked at me exasperatedly. It only made my fit of giggled worse.
"Well at least I made you laugh." He chuckled, scratching the back of his neck.
" I'm—sorry—" I wheeze in between my spasms.
" Its that you were so serious and deep in thought and then you suddenly got so shy and cute it was funny." I laughed again. 'Cute? Oh my Merlin what are you saying?!'
"Cute?" He looked at me and blushed, I couldn't help myself, caught in the moment I blushed too and played with my hair nervously.
