Walking briskly through the hallways heading to my common room. I stopped in surprise as a rather lanky Gryffindor fourth year left through the Slytherin portrait.
"Neville?"
We locked eyes for a brief moment. He brushed quick...
I skipped several steps in my hurry to get down to breakfast. My hair and clothes untidy and in wrinkles.

I tried to sit next to Neville but he was in a sandwich between the Weasley twins. I figured I would be able to talk to him later so I made my way over to the Slytherin table.
I sat next to Pansy who continued to gush about Draco. Describing in great EXAGERATED detail about his appearance.
"His muscles I swear, were huge! You wouldn't think so because of his small frame but his abs oh Merlin." She dramatically sighed, placing her hands over her forehead. A gaggle of third year girls kept 'oohing and awwing' during particular bits. I put my plate down, suddenly feeling full.
During every class I tried to grab Neville's attention but he was always drawn away by others and we sat far apart during lectures. I decided to change tactics and sent him a note in divination.
7:00 PM you and me greenhouse
His entire frame flushed with pink but I didn't think anything of it. Unfortunately though I was not so discreet.
"Y/N!" She barked, this time showing more hostility. "This is the second time you so rudely interrupted our precious class time. Detention after school." She turned away crossly continued to lecture.
"Erg." I groaned, thudding my head on the desk. I didn't care much to pay attention after.
Detention was boring and pointless. She forced me to dust the crystal balls until she deemed them perfect and made me restock the tea shelves until my arms and back ached. After a couple hours she dismissed me. I worriedly looked at the clock and found that it was 7:05.
"Oh Merlin." I gasped to myself. I'm late. It seemed to now be a habit.
I scampered down to the outskirts of hogwarts panting. Neville was watering the plants taking to them in low soothing voices. He had an apron and gloves on. I stood there a moment admiring him.
