Alianna woke to the sound of the birds songs, and the warm rays of sunlight filtering through the small gap above her head. It had been a cold and horrible night, she hardly slept a wink, the mozies had litreally eaten her alive. Aliannas stomach felt tight with hunger, and sounded like an angry bear. maybe they will give me some food if I wait near the door, Alianna thought hopefully. She sat on the ledge before the door and looked at the restaurant more closely now in the daylight. The restaurant was very fancy looking, it had lace table cloths, special scented candles, its cutlery were silvery and sparkly, its plates were made of polished china, a chandelier hung from the roof , and soft calming music could be heard from inside. It must cost a fortune to get in to this place, Alianna thought. A waiter with a broom opened the door and stepped outside. She held her breath. Would he be kind enough to give her some food? As the waiter spotted Alianna huddled in the corner he sweeped at her with his prickly straw broom. "We do not give scraps to beggars, so get out of here!!!" He yelled at Alianna, shooing her away with his broom. Alianna felt her eyes start to prickle. She felt as if she could cry a river. She felt rejected, unloved, lonely and lost.
