"What is taking you so long, child!" Shouted the lady from last night, who was now standing in the middle of the doorway " The whole orphanage is waiting!!!" The girl who gave Alianna the uniform 10 minutes ago was now standing behind her. "You might be able to do as you please on the streets, but here you will be respectful and disciplined!" Alianna stared at this frightful women standing in front of her "Get dressed! And make it snappy! Tiff! Get the girl a bowl to wash in!"
The girl, Tiff, hurried off down another hallway. " if you are not out in 5 minutes you will get 10 instead of the 5 i am going to give you!!!" The lady slammed the door and hurried down the hallway. Just at that moment Tiff returned witha bowl of water and a hand towel. She layed the bowl on the bed. " wash your face in this." She said gesturing towards the bowl. Alianna went forth and dipped her hands in the bowl, the flicked water on her filthy face. When she was done the water was a murky brown colour. She dried her hands on the hand towel.Tiff was still standing there watching her. Alianna started dressing quickly "whats your name?" Tiff said sitting down on the bed. "Alianna" she said plainly. " Thats a nice name! Mines Tiffany but dragon calls me Tiff..." Tiff suddenly looked downcast. "Whos dragon?" Alianna questioned "The mistress, we all call her that behind her back." Was the answer Alianna got. "The dragon didnt say anything about giving you 5 or 10 right?" Tiff said after a pause. Alianna was now dressed and sat on the bed next to tiff. She went over what dragon had said." Yes" she replied. " oh oh you'd better get out there that means shes gonna give you the cane!" Tiff looked scared again.
