(This short story is a sequel to God's fight. Go read that story first before you read this one.)
On a beautiful hill that is the land of Flower Stone, there was a bunch of flowers spread around the area. There was people there to take care of them since Cream isn't present. Then, there's a guy in his twenties walking around the place. Doing his usual stroll. However, that would be interrupted when he sees King on the ground hurting.
He continues to stand there with pure shock. Scared for how he ended up the way he did. King then starts shaking. Hurting so badly from the impact that left him here.
The guy got on his knees and hugs him, "Oh King, you must be hurt. Do you need some help?"
After a while of him shaking and panting, he responds, "Please... It hurts... So much."
He stops hugging him then tries to pick him up. Thankfully, he wasn't that heavy so he got to carry him to his place. A friend of his saw him carrying him home and catch up to him.
"Hey! Yuku! Let me help you!"
At Yuku's house, King's laying on a bed inside a guest's bedroom. Because it's been pretty chilly in Flower Stone, he has blankets on top of him. Yuku and his friend both scramble to find something to heal him. When Yuku remembers the ice packs that he made, he searched for them in a freezer he also made.
After he finally found them, he grabs one and rush to the guest room. His friend then realized that he has a music box inside his bag that he brought with him. He gets it out and puts the bag on the counter. Not wanting to be left alone in the kitchen, he heads to the guest room.
Meanwhile, Yuku's on the bed petting his head with the ice pack on his head. Because of the halo on his head, he didn't need to worry about keeping it still. His friend finally came in the room. He's winding it up before setting it down at a night stand.
Both of them then see King grunt in pain. Yuku hugs him but he didn't want to do it tight since it could put him through more pain.
"Man, you must've been in so much pain. I'm so sorry. I wish we both can help you without worrying about the limits of everything we have."
He just lays there wallowing in pain. At one point, he ended up having tears in his eyes. While he's trying not to cry, he ended up hugging him weeping. His friend's at a shock. Neither he or Yuku has ever seen him cry before.
"It's okay. Please don't be afraid to let it out. I honestly can't imagine how much pain you're in right now."
His friend finally says something, "Say. We never got to hear what happened to him and how he got this badly injured."
Yuku responds looking at him, "Oh yeah. We didn't ask him about that."
Both look at him sniffling and wiping his tears away. They continue to look at him. Waiting to hear from him. Finally, he stops crying. Now looking at the ceiling but then looks at them.
After long amount of silence, he finally responds, "Me and Lady got into a huge fight earlier. We both would stab, throw, and even kick each other throughout it all. She even have me crashed onto a tree before she also crashed me onto a beach that was nearby. I can't describe how much destruction we both caused from the entire thing. Now that I think about it, it's surprising that no one tried to step in."
Both of them have been looking at him in a state of horror. Now even more worried for him.
"Oh my gosh. What was all that over?"
He responds after saying nothing, "Me and a woman name Lapis had an argument that got worse when my partner stepped in to try and protect her. Because I was so enraged, I screamed and slapped them in the face. Even though I knew how scared they are when anyone does it."
He begins to weep again but continues on, "I can't believe I actually did that. Since my first date with them, I promised them that I would never lay a hand on them the way that I did. I wish I wasn't always this easily enraged to not do anything this horrible."
As he went back to weeping his heart out, both Yuku and his friend look at him. They both feel horrible for him. Understanding how his blindness to rage can make him hurt people, even when he doesn't want to. With the amount of concern they both have, his friend got on the bed with Yuku as both of them hug him.
"Gosh, that sounds awful. I know you've been talking about how much you love them. It must've been so hard for you when you did it."
Yuku stops hugging him with a smile, despite being so worried, "I wanna say this to hopefully make you feel better about yourself. You wanna know how many times me and my friend got into a fight even for the littlest of things? Quite a lot. But guess what? We both make amends every time. Why? Because we all make mistakes. And obviously you and the gods do as well. You all might not really be completely human, but that doesn't mean you're perfect."
He responds no longer hugging him but smiling, "Yeah. From what I've heard from you, it does take time before things settle down. It's good for you two to take a break every now and then. It may not be easy to do but it'll be worth it. Not to mention your situation. Yeah there are things that no one should forgive someone for but you know what we mean."
King finally wipes his tears away. Now no longer crying, he thinks about everything they both said. After a while, he finally understands. They're right. Everyone makes mistakes. He looks at them with a smile.
"You're right. No one's made to be perfect. If anything, as long as we don't make those mistakes again, everything will be okay."
"Yeah. You don't want to overthink it or else you'll make yourself worse."
They all look at each other before they laugh it out. Now that he's doing okay, he looks at the ceiling. Even though everything will be fine, he can't stop worrying about how they feel after what he did.
Yuku grabs his attention when his eyes look at him, "Hey. If you need to rest, please do so. It does look like you're having a hard time right now."
He responds, "Yeah. I'm sure the others can help you with your job. It's good to take a break sometimes. We'll be right here to make sure you're okay."
He looks at him when he looks at the ceiling again. Even though he wants to go back out there, Yuku's right. Sometimes taking a break is good. He turns his head and responds with a smile.
"Alright. I'll stay here for a bit."
Yuku continues to look at him before responding with a chuckle, "I'm so glad."
His friend hugs him, "Don't worry so much. Just rest up for a bit."
Both of them left the guest room. When they did, King remains inside the room. The ice pack's still on his head. Since it's almost completely melted, he uses magic to freeze it up again. Now that it's good in use again, he can keep it on. He then uses magic to get out a sphere to watch over others. Hoping everyone will be okay since he's injured and can't help them at the moment.
