𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐒𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐒𝐅𝐈𝐄𝐃,, 𝐚𝐣𝐚𝐱 𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐬

𝟎𝟎𝟔. 𝐒𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐄𝐒

𝐀𝐉𝐀𝐗'𝐒 𝐏𝐎𝐕:

Xavier's voice faded into nothingness as i stared at my bestfriend wrestling another wolf to the ground after everyone had been crowding around her.

The grin that spread across her face when she was with people made me feel something inside but I couldn't quite put my finger on the feeling.

"Ajax!" Xavier said snapping his fingers infront of my bewildered face. "dude? you good?" he got off his ladder and shook me over and over again.

"yeah" I muttered hazily. "yeah i'm fine." I said more firmly looking xavier in his eyes.

"anyway, what did you want me for?"

𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐋𝐘𝐍'𝐒 𝐏𝐎𝐕:
(𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐱)

I placed the cat hairband over my hair that was tied tightly into a low ponytail.
I fiddled with my costume until I was finally satisfied with it and I strut out of the tent.

I felt hot.

Enid squealed from beside me. "you look even better than last year!" she jumped up and down clapping excitedly.

"you bet I do." I grinned at her pulling her into my side and giving her a hug. "I'm gonna go set up the boat." I kissed her forehead and ran off towards the docks.

I heard Enid groan. "I'm not your baby sister anymore you know!" she yelled after me but I didn't turn back. "right okay" I called chuckling under my breath.

I walked up to ajax's boat and when he walked up to me I did my best horror movie scream. He laughed and shoved my shoulder.

I switched my tone to a more serious one. "no but seriously why do you look terrifying."

"because i'm just a really scary dude." he nodded to himself proudly. "as if, ajax not even the rabbits in the field are scared of you when you "chase" after them trying to hug them." I said giggling at the memory.

"don't bring that up again." his smile dropped and he walked over to his boat. "good luck!" I yelled at him and he screamed it back before I actually sat in the boat waiting for it to start.

soon enough I was racing across the water paddling as fast as my arms could. All my muscles ached but I was determined to beat everyone this year and win.

One of the boats slowly started drift off into a red buoy. The whole boat exchanged glances paddling desperately away from the buoy.

It didn't work.

The boat hit buoy with extreme impact making it split in two and splintered wood littered the murky water.

The gold-bugs were far behind everyone and the jester/joker team was in the lead. Wednesday little hand friend called "thing" flipped a switch on the bottom of the boat and a net shot out catching something in the water.

When we docked on the pier at the other side of the lake wednesday hopped out immediately and ran off into the woods.

I sat in the boat waiting impatiently for her to get back. I tapped my fingernails against the black wood on the side.

Enid and thing got out the boat after a while and ran off to the jesters boat and ran her extended nails up and down the wood.

I smiled at her. sabotage, love. it.

(𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲)

Enid thrusted the trophy into the air as everyone in the crowd wooped and cheered.

"let's go celebrate!" I announced and I ran off the rest of the team followed after me. We pushed our way through the crowd and we ran out of the nevermore gates.

I stopped and leant down panting heavily, taking a breather. After our little pit-stop we walked (instead of ran) down the street into jericho.

I pushed my side against the glass doors of the weathervane and held it open for the rest of the team before it shut behind me with a click.

I slid into a booth and a boy around Enid's age came up to us with a notepad in hand. "orders?" he asked

"hot chocolate please." I smiled sweetly at the boy and he smiled back. Everyone else ordered and he gave wednesday a look and then left to go make our coffee.

"wednesday?" I started and she looked up at me from the table. "yes." she said blankly staring me down. "why was that boy looking at you like he knew you?" I asked and she sighed deeply.

"that's tyler. We met before when I escaped hell." she said then turned away from me and looked out the window.

"by hell she means her therapy sessions." Enid said after she saw my confused expression.

Tyler came back with drinks on a plate and then placed them on the table in front of us. "Thank you." I said quickly wrapping my hands around the cup warming them up.

I jumped onto my bed face first and sighed inwardly, exhuasted from the day's activities so far. The taste of the hot chocolate stayed in my mouth and I swallowed trying to taste the delicious drink once again.

it didn't work.

I got out my headphones from my bedside table and put them on my head connecting them wirelessly to my phone.

I went on spotify and clicked on my playlist called, "gonna start stabbing shit" and the song that first came up was mr perfectly fine.
