The mouth-watering smells of ginger & cinnamon fill the air, permeating each and every corner of the apartment. In much the same way, your groan of frustration can heard all throughout as the walls of the gingerbread house come falling back down again.

"I don't know what you expected." Tan says with a knowing tone, leaning forward on crossed arms amid the candy carnage on the kitchen island. "There's more icing on you than there is on the damn gingerbread."

"Shut up, Mr MIT." You poke at him, reaching over to smear his face with some of the vanilla icing covering your hands. "If you hadn't been too proud to just buy the kit, we would've been down hours ago."

"If you didn't have the patience of a bullock, it would've gone to plan." He retorts as he squirms away from you, only to make a kissy face at you from across the island. "See? We complete each other."

A groan of mock disgust leaves your lips, and he laughs. Wiping your hands off on a tea towel, you roll your eyes as he comes around to kiss your cheek and to try and salvage the wreck that is your ill-fated building project.
