Chapter 1: Stargazer

LENA'S POINT OF VIEW

"Mom! Mom! Please Mommy get up! Their coming" tears where spilling out of my eyes as I tried to get my mother to move "Aleya go run......don't look back...." the sound of hard, fast steps, breaking branches and rustling leaves were getting closer. "I won't leave you mom" I felt her warm hand touch my face and then she pushed me "Go Aleya!" I fell to the ground, Their voices getting nearer, louder and more terrifying "I love you mom" I ran as fast as I could trying to get away, they were chasing me..........

"Lena, Lena, Lena don't make me kick your butt out of bed" my eyes flew open searching for the voice, I found it "Grandma, why did you wake me?" my voice came out like a croak "You were screaming" I looked up at my grandmother she was a taller than average woman with long straight black hair and red eyes with a fair complection, she was wearing one of her black combat dresses with boots and she had her hair loose "I'm sorry, I had the same dream or memory again" she nodded "I know kiddo, I know" her voice was soft and gentle, but she was as dangerous as she was gentle "You need to get up, training starts in a few minutes and you know how Fujimore gets when your late" I laughed getting up and heading to my closet. "Does dad still want to put me in some training school?" I asked getting dressed "Why Aleya Liyara, do you really think he would change his mind?" I laughed "No he's too stubborn for that" she smiled "So are you".

I wanted to argue back, but there was a knock at my door "Lady Saya, Fujimore has requested to see you at once, he says it's urgent" she turned to the door "I coming". "Lena you need to get down to the training field, and train. When you're done come back to your room we need to start packing" I nodded as she left. School that was a new concept for me especially since my skills would be put to the test against children my age and older. I was worried about that, my seeker ability always reacted to new people and they were always overwhelmed by my power essence. I walked to the training field in silence, most of the warriors were in some kind of meeting with my grandmother and Fujimore. I was warming up when Fujimore arrived "Sensei what happened?" I asked hoping to get a real answer "One of the nearby rebel camps were attacked early this morning by a few rogue ogers" I stayed silent waiting for him to continue, when he didn't I asked "Are we in any danger?" he shook his head "No, nothing to worry about" I watched him for a while, he was a tall man with white hair and brown eyes and then I connected with my seeker ability. A wave of color hit me showing me Fujimore and the other rebels fighting off seven charmed ogers.

"Sensei their not rogue, their charmed" I said coming back "Seeking again Lena, you're not suppose to use that ability on me" he scolded "I will use it when I know you're hiding something from me" he shook his head "Enough, lets train" I nodded. He was in front of me in a flash, with an energy orb in his hand ready to hit me with it. I jumped up into the air doing a summer salt and landing a few feet away on my feet "Your speed has improved, but you still lack a warrior's grace" He appeared behind me, I spun around kicking him, he blocked my kick with his arm, preparing a bounce back shield. I used my speed to move back, knowing that the shields release would knock me out. He released his shield, the release set of an enormous wind, but I managed to stay on my feet "If you think your save behind that your wrong!" I yelled running at flash speed hitting the shield with full force, the impact caused the shield to let of energy in the form of lightning around my body as I kept on pushing my way through the shield. It cracked and shattered into pieces. I jumped forward hitting Fujimore with my fist, the hit sent him flying into a tree.

I walked towards him "Too hard?" I asked, he let out a chuckle "Too hard" I helped him up as my grandmother and Bento came running up to us "Whoa! Old man why did you tick her off?" Bento asked helping me get Fujimore up "I didn't" Fujimore said clearly annoyed at Bento's old man comment "Do you need to be healed"Saya my grandmother asked "No Saya, I'm fine, she hit me hard enough to hurt me, but not hard enough to be healed, my body will take care of itself" she nodded as we started walking back to our little hideout. The hideout wasn't really little it was big enough to hold two hundred people and currently it held about a hundred and fifty warriors, women and children. We called it Stargazer because it was surrounded by trees creating a shield no outsider to the group could see past it or move through it and standing inside Stargazer you could look up at the stars knowing that you were save and that no dragon or dragon rider could see us from the air.

"Lena come you need to pack" Saya said grabbing my hand, pulling me towards my room "What do I even pack, Grandma?" I asked sitting on my bed looking at the clothes in my closet "Some of you clothes, you'll be wearing the school's standard uniforms, and of course a few reminders of this place" she smiled taking a seat next to me "What are you afraid of kiddo?" I looked at her startled but relaxed as soon as I saw her worried look "I'm worried about my powers" she frowned "Don't be, in this new place it might be hard to control you power, that much is true but remember you'll find friends that will help you make get through all of the hard things like control and hiding your essence" she pulled me into her embrace "How do you know I'll have friends?" I asked looking up into her eyes "Because your you Lena" I didn't say anything after that.

We packed for a few hours before we went down, I decided to go the cliff and watch as the battles between the united armies and the Dark Lord's creatures raged. It was silent on the battle field, there was no battle going on at the moment and the atmosphere seemed relaxed, I wanted to run down there and go to my father, just to see him. I hadn't seen him in a few weeks and I missed him but I knew he would never let me get near him in any place he deemed to dangerous for me, even now as I stood on the cliff miles away from the actual battle field, I was being watched by Bento my father's best friend and right hand man he was a tall, build man with short brown hair and brown eyes, he had lightly tanned skin and like my father he too was a Wengarian. "You know Bento I'm not stupid enough to go there, right?" he jumped down from the trees "I know, but you aren't in the Stargazer, so my watchful eye is needed" I laughed "I can take care of myself" he nodded "No doubt about that Lena, but if something should happen to you, your father would go crazy" I watched as the wind made the grass on the plain move "I know".
