The moment the door closed behind Draven with a soft click, Sequoia slowly rose her head from underneath the security of her covers, wiping away her tears with the back of her hand as she stared at the now closed door with a note of uncertainty.

Did she really hear Draven correctly? Did he just say that they were in love with her?

Sequoia's eyes looked down to find the cellphone that Draven had mentioned right where he had left it. She reached a hand forward and picked it up. It was a beautiful pearl silver, top of the line cell phone, which by the looks of it was quite expensive. She flipped it over in her hand and saw the case decoration on the back. She found herself in awe at the beautifully painted image of two wolves howling at a full moon on it. Sequoia found herself sighing out loud as she caressed each image with her fingers.

She wondered to herself, as she stared at the picture, if what the twins said could possibly be true. Were they really werewolves or Lycans as they called themselves? But then, she felt a wave of fear sweep over her when she recalled how she had just seen Devlin's handsome golden green eyes darken to the point where they went completely pitch black. She couldn't help the shudder that rocked through her when she recalled how his face had suddenly morph right before her eyes into something that was not quite human.

Sequoia immediately found herself questioning what she had just seen. But when the reality of the situation finally kicked in, she realized that her eyes had not in any way, shape or form been playing tricks on her. She really had seen Devlin's eyes turn black and his handsome face morph. However, for some odd reason, deep down inside, Sequoia knew that Devlin was not trying to hurt her.

Unfortunately, fear of seeing it, had won out in the end. What had caused Sequoia to become frightened was the angry tone of voice he had used. He had reminded her instantly of Myles. Myles would often scream at her in that very same way just before he would beat her. This fear made her realize that she was witnessing Devlin's response to her taunting challenge, and this was his attempt to frighten her, which he had totally succeeded in doing.

But she never expected to also find out that Devlin and Draven were actually in love with her. When she heard this omission, she couldn't help but feel an immediate sense of numbness. Myles had told her that he loved her too only to hurt her. In a way the word Love had totally lost its meaning. Whenever Sequoia heard the word used, she found herself asking one question.

How can anyone truly be in love with her when in the end they will more than likely just bring her pain?

Staring down at the phone she held in her hands; Sequoia flipped it over and pressed the unlock button on the phone's screen. Draven had just told her that, she could call anyone that she wanted, even if it was the police. He had even mentioned Cameron. Just as Sequoia thought this, her best friend's face immediately popped into her head. Sequioa couldn't help but imagine what Cameron might be feeling and thinking right now. After all, it had been over two whole weeks since she had gone missing.

Taking a deep breath, Sequoia clicked the phone icon on the screen and stared at the keypad displayed there. A full minute went by before Sequoia, with a heavy sigh, began punching in Cameron's number. Sequoia could clearly hear the trilling of the dial tone as the phone lines were being connected. Just then, there was a click and Sequoia heard a soft, questioning,

"Hello."

The sound of Cameron's voice on the other end instantly brought tears to Sequoia's eyes.

"Cammie." Sequoia said softly.

"S... Sequoia?!" Sequoia could hear a mixture of disbelief, shock and happiness all rolled into one projected in her best friend's voice on the other line. "Oh my god, Sequoia, Is that really you?"
