Sayanni Janae Wilson | Chicago IL
September 12th | 2020"Call me when you getting ready to leave," Dayvon spoke looking towards her as he parked he stopped the car in front of the entranceway to Au Cheval. "I will," Sayanni replied leaning across the armrest to give him a hug, they stayed like that for a little while.
Sayanni grabbed her things, stepped out of the car, and moved to get Harmoni out of the car as well.
Dayvon had already set up Harmoni's stroller whilst she was getting her stuff. Saynni took Harmoni out of her seat pushing the stroller across the lot and onto the entrance of the restaurant. "Say bye Von," Sayanni spoke waving Harmoni's hand at the make and then waving bye to him as well. He smiled jogging over to them and kissing them both
in the cheek before getting back into his car and speeding off.Sayanni walked through the entrance of the restaurant with Harmoni in tow excusing herself to alert the people around her with the stroller so she didn't hit anyone's toes with it.
Sayanni stood in the small line in the restaurant lobby, Harmoni's stroller close to the side of her. As the line to be seated became shorter Harmoni became restless in her stroller and began to cry which caused the people around them look and stare anticipating the actions the young girl would take to calm down the baby.
Sayanni nervously smiled rocking the stroller and looking around meeting eyes with everyone that was watching her. This was another thing she hated about being so young, everywhere she went because of Harmoni people thought they needed to put their two cents into her life and spread their wisdom to her. Talk about how she had so much life to live and how she could've been so much more if not she had Harmoni.
Judgement was inevitable and she knew that, but having people look down on you for something they don't even know the full situation of was heartbreaking. Sayanni took Harmoni out of the car seat softly shushing her as she bounced her in her arms, laying her head down on Sayanni's chest her cries quieting down to deep short breaths.
"I'm so sorry." Sayanni apologized to the hostess that was getting ready to seat them. "It's fine love, she's a baby they cry. She's beautiful by the way. Table for one or are you looking for a party?" The hostess asked a warm smile displayed on her face.
"Thank you. It should be under the name either Kylah or Amina." Sayanni responding a small smile towards the older women as she continuing to bounce Harmoni in her arms. "Alrighty, could you just follow me to your table, the bathrooms are down that way and to the right," She stated looking over the tablet in her hand for the name then grabbing a menu and a kids menu then pointing ahead of her as they walked.
Sayanni followed behind the women until she recognized the two girls sitting at a small booth by the window on either side of each other talking.
"Mina!" Sayanni spoke loud enough to get her attention but not too loud to disturb the other people around her. They both turned her way Kool-Aid-man smiles spread across their face as they noticed her. The girls rise from their seats heading over to Sayanni and crowding her in a hug all of them talking at once. The hostess had excused herself once she saw they had noticed each other planning to head back once they got situated.
"We missed you girl,"Amina started before looking at Harmoni and holding her arms out for a hug. I reached for Amina giggling as she kissed all over her face. Kylah had sat back down watching the two with a blank face.
"How have y'all been? I missed you guys so much ya'll don't even know." Saynni stated grabbing the hands of her friends.
"We have shit to discuss."
"Foreal like so much has happened and you ain't been at school," Amina stated a frown on her face as she thought of how long it had been since she talked to her friend in person. They were both piled in school and graduation was coming up so were their birthdays. Sayanni had been in school for two periods before she left and went home.
She hadn't had any time to call or even stay for a whole school day. Harmoni had gotten to the point where separation anxiety was at an all time high and postpartum was still kicking Sayanni's ass for the past three months. Sure they'd talk on the phone and facetime but they both had things to do and to get prepared for.
The girls sat and talked for a while eating their food and just catching up. "You talk to Jeremiah lately?" Kylah spoke up stacking her salad on her fork before dipping it into the small container of ranch she had on the side.
"That just reminded me! Girl tell me why this nigga pop up at my house?" Sayanni asked rhetorically causing Amina to comically drop her jaw.
"Your lying."
"No for real. Me and Von was coming back from Denny's and you know how you can't see shit until you turn that corner in my complex. The nigga was standing at the door looking anxious and shit like he stole somethin." Sayanni replied shaking her head at the thought. Just thinking about the audacity he had just pissed her off.
"Then gon get mad at me talking bout some oh so this what you was doing. Like you ain't call or text, trying to get mad at me cause you have a poor way of communicating it's been literally seven months since she was born and you come around now." Sayanni vented to her friends every single emotion she was feeling at the moment spilling from her mouth and onto the table in-front of them.
"He's been a weirdo since day one. How you ain't peep that." Amina mentioned stabbing her side salad with the fork in her hand.
"How y'all let me be blind to his foolery?" Sayanni asked rhetorically knowing the answer. Even before Sayanni and Jeremiah started dating there were signs that he wasn't shit, but of course being young and in love shielded all that from her, or she just wasn't trying to see.
"Well at least he's trying to do better and be in her life yanno." Kylah mentioned shrugging before sliding her plate of food to the other side of the table and grabbing the other she had ordered. Sayanni looked down thinking about the words she was saying. She was right. He was trying just not the best at it.
"Who is paying for all this?" Amina asked genuinely waving her finger in a circle above the plates of food they had ordered.

General FictionLove had always been an iffy thing when it came to Sayanni, she never really believed in it, her mother was dead and her father..... well she didn't even know who he was. She was never shown what real love is. Tv and Books can only teach you so much...
