Christmas Proposal - Byler Story

𝙳𝚎𝚌𝚎𝚖𝚋𝚎𝚛 𝟷𝟻𝚝𝚑 𝟷𝟿𝟿𝟻, 𝟷𝟶:𝟹𝟻 𝚊𝚖

Will was getting ready as Mike laid in bed watching Friends.

"How's the book you've been writing going?" Will asked as he was putting his shoes on.

"Good. I'm almost done writing page 235." Mike replied proudly.

"Well it's time for me to go." Will said as he grabbed his bag off of his side of the bed. "I love you!" He smiled.

"I love you too." Mike replied as he watched Will leave the bedroom in a rush.

Suddenly Will came back into the room. "Sorry I forgot something." He said as he walked up to Mike and kissed him. He ran out of their room leaving Mike smiling.

Mike got up and quickly got dressed, putting on white converse, a light blue oversized sweater, white baggy jeans, two black rings (one with m + w engraved into it) and a white beanie.

He then headed out the door and went to Dustin's house.

After about a 28 minute drive, Mike finally got to Hawkins. Dustin's house was only about a Five minutes drive from the entry of Hawkins because of how small the town is.

𝙳𝚎𝚌𝚎𝚖𝚋𝚎𝚛 𝟷𝟻𝚝𝚑, 𝟷𝟷:𝟹𝟸 𝚊𝚖

Mike pulled into Dustins drive way and noticed 4 cars in the drive way which means he's the last to arrive.

He turned off his car and got out. He walked up to Dustins wooden door. He knocked three times and stood and waited for someone to answer.

Finally, after about 15 seconds of waiting, Robin answered the door.

"Hey Wheeler, soon to be Byers." Robin smirked.

"Wheeler-Byers."

"Huh?"

"When and if I get married to Will I'm changing my last name to Wheeler-Byers." Mike explained.

"Ok... Wheeler-Byers-.." Robin muttered as she moved so Mike could get in. "Come inside everyone is already in the living room."

"Thank you." Mike jokingly rolled his eyes as he walked in and made his way to the living room as Robin followed.

As Mike walked into the living room everyone looked up in sync.

"Hey Mike." Nancy smiled.

"Hey." Mike replied back, sitting on a chair in the living room.

Robin entered the living room and sat on the couch next to Nancy.

"Let's talk proposal." Lucas said as he scooted up in his seat.

"So what are we doing again?" Dustin asked.

"I'll explain the whole plan over again..."

Mike left Dustin's at 1:00pm and it's now 2:48 pm, he's sitting at his desk and working on his book 'Can't You Hear Me?' And listening to 'SmallTown Boy' by Bronski Beat as he waits for Will to get home. It was a Friday that Will only works 5 hours on which means date night!

Mike finished the page he was working on and went to the kitchen and grabbed a beer. He doesn't usually drink beer unless he's with his friends but he's stressing about the stupid proposal.

Mike sat down on the couch with his beer and decided to watch Friends until Will gets home.

It's now 3:34 and Will just parked his car outside the apartment building. He gets out, grabbing his green bag that's beside him.

He gets to apartment 20, his apartment and he opens the door knowing Mike always leaves it unlocked around the time Will is supposed to get home.

Will walks into the living room a notices a few beer bottles on the Coffee table by Mike.

"Hi Will!" Mike smiled.

"Hey. How much beer did you drink?"

"Only 4 bottles." Mike answered.

"Are you okay? You only drink beer when you're with friends or stressed and the only friends I see is the show." Will questioned as he sat down next to Mike.

"Yeah I'm fine. I was just bored waiting for you to get home!" Mike lied.

Will hugged him. "Ok well no more. You have to drive us to the diner tonight." He laughed.

"I wasn't planning on drinking anymore."  Mike said as he hugged Will back. "Wanna watch Friends with me?"

"I have to take a shower but when I'm done I'll watch Friends with you until it's time to go." Will replied breaking the hug. He got up and walked into the hallway then disappeared.

Will and Mike were at the diner. They already have their food so now they are just talking.

"I'm so excited for Christmas!" Will said excitedly.

"I am too I'm just not excited that we are going to be in separate houses for four days." Mike stated sadly as he ate his chicken wings.

"I know but we will all be together including the party, Steve, your family, my family and Robin at your childhood house on Christmas." Will said trying to cheer Mike up.

"I know..." Mike started. "I also still think Steve is a douche."

"Mike that was a while ago... and you weren't even the victim my brother was."

"He was still homophobic. And also for a while he didn't like the fact that Robin and Nancy were dating." Mike sighed.

"Mike... if me, Jonathan, Nancy and Robin can forgive him you can to." Will said softly. Mike just nodded his head "no" In response and continued eating his food.

Will scooted over to the thing that you can choose a song to play (you know what I mean) and choose a song.

Once the song that was currently on stopped playing the song 'Forever' by The Beach Boys started playing.

Mike looked up and smiled at Will.

"It's 'our' song!" Will smiled. Mike just laughed.

"You're adorable." Mike laughed. Will laughed with him.

"I know."
