Prologue

Ember Boogeyman sat in the nightshades library refilling her fathers Boogey-sand jars. "Invisibility" she mumbles refilling the jar with purple sand before putting the wooden stopper back in. "Nightvision" green sand. After about twenty more minutes she had finished. She puts the the bags back into the rusty rose gold chest and locks it. Placing the key back on the necklace around her neck she makes her way of the library.

Ember was the daughter of Boogeyman. When she first arrived at Nevermore the students were cautious, I mean, her father was know for haunting your dreams. She would sit alone in the quad pushing her food around with her fork, never had a partner for fencing, was never invited to join a poe-cup team. She was an outcast in the school full of outcasts. Her pastel purple and turquoise highlights made her hard to miss when she walked by.

The first friend she ever made was Ajax. It was a month into her enrollment and his partner for fencing was in the infirmary with a fever. "Ajax you will be with Ember" the class silenced as they looked around for the girl. They all watched as she slowly emerged from the shadow that the sun casted in the corner of the room. The two slowly and cautiously walk towards each other. She had beaten him 3 times in a row. When the class ended and they were walking out of the locker rooms he stopped her and complimented her on her technique which made her laugh.

Xavier quickly followed his best friend and became fast friends with the girl. It took a while though because the only time he saw her was when she was with Ajax, even then when he would approach them she would slip into the shadows. "Why won't she talk to me" Xavier frowned sitting down next to Ajax. Another failed attempt. Ajax looked over in surprise seeing Xavier in seat Ember was just a moment ago. "Well we weren't the most welcoming" the gorgon explains looking around for his new friend. After a while Ajax was able to coax her out of the shadows whenever Xavier showed up.

After Xavier was Enid. She loved Embers hair, and it wasn't everyday a wealthy alumni's student was enrolled into Nevermore halfway through the year. After drawing out information from both Ajax and Xavier she wrote about it in her blog. Ajax had showed it to Ember who was expecting the worst, but she was surprised to see that Enid painted her as a sweet girl who was just horribly judged. She approached the werewolf the next day and thanked her.

The first to start dating Ember was Enid. It was Nevermore's anual halloween party and they went as Red Riding Hood and The Big Bad Wolf. Ember was sat the table surrounded by Xavier and his girlfriend Bianca, Ajax and his date and other acquaintances. Enid had asked her to the dance under the disguise of "It's your first dance, as your best friend I cannot let you go alone." And so there they sat laughing with their friends.

You're Mine by Ritchie Valens flowed out the speakers and couple started to fill the dance floor. The two girls looked at each other "Wanna dance?" Enid asks holding her hand out towards Ember. "Would love to" They slow danced while staring into each others eyes with blushing smiles on their faces. As the song was ending Enid built up all the courage she could and kissed her. The day after Enids blog was filled with huge capital letters, misspelled words and a bunch of heart emojis.

Ajax was next. It was confusing for the three when Ajax confessed his feelings about Emeber to them. He couldn't hold it in anymore, he felt as if he was lying and betraying them with his feelings for Ember. After a lot of talking and more talking. Ajax and Enid agreed that they could both date Ember, if she was comfortable. And so began their weird and cute little relationship.

Ajax and Enid struggled a lot with Jealousy in the early stages but Ember was always able to comfort them.

To say Xavier was shocked when his friends told them about their relationship would be an understatement. He sat for 10 minutes staring at them with a confused look while processing. Of course he supportive, he was just shocked. He didn't understand how two people could be okay with sharing one person. Until, he started blushing when Ember would smile at him, or get goosebumps when their skin touched. He broke up with Bianca shortly after coming to terms with his feelings.

After learning the correct term for it, Enid posted on her blog that she, Ember, Xavier, and Ajax were in a polyamorous relationship. "To be clear this is NOT an open relationship and if we see you flirting with Ember you will be killed." "Update: Ember said killed is too aggressive but you have been warned"
