Soobin sighed as he closed his book for the fifth time, he couldn't ever understand how words on paper could get him this worked up and a fictional character can make him feel so many emotions just as the humans around him do.
Yeah, he was back with Ella and her haunted house, this was the near end of the first book and this series was a trilogy.
He had taken an awfully long time to complete this one book because every two days he had to gain courage to even read the next paragraph. Sometimes even flipping the page made him anxious.
Of course he was eager to read what was going to happen next but just as much he was jittery. He cared about this character Ella more than he even cared about himself at this point.
There were hundreds of short video edits on Instagram about this book and he had successfully only watched some of them and skipped all the ones which had spoilers into it.
Yeah, he enjoyed torturing himself.
So now as the train moved forward to his— their destiny, he had his thumb in between the pages while he looked outside of his window, it was a beautiful evening with the distinct mixed hues of violet and pink and orchid spread across the sky, the crescent moon was already showing its existence while the sun was dipping past the horizon.
Inhaling a deep breath he turned his head to just in time to see with Yeonjun held up his phone of course clicking pictures so Soobin innocently posed with a peace sign and a wide smile.
"Get aside, Binnie," Yeonjun hissed as he pushed Soobin's face away from the frame of his phone, "the sky looks pretty, let me get some good pictures." He withdrew his hand back and started to angle to take the best shots he could manage.
Soobin scoffed as he rolled his eyes. "That's why they say not to date your best friend." He had grumbled under his breath. "There is absolutely no romance in such relationships."
Yeonjun raised his eyebrows as he lowered his phone and looked Soobin dead in the eye. "I have a very sore back." He whispered his words. "Didn't we have enough romance last night?" He exaggerated a blink. "My ass is hurting. Do not say romance between us doesn't work when we had sex…" he stopped himself before he cleared his throat, "we made love yesterday."
"I told you we shouldn't do it," Soobin countered back, "I told you." He scoffed absolutely offended. "You seduced me."
"Why are you saying that with such an accusing tone?" Yeonjun widened his eyes as he dramatically pressed his palm on his chest. "Why are you getting so worked up just because I didn't click your picture?"
"You find the sky prettier than me."
"Because it is!"
Soobin looked at Yeonjun in absolute betrayal before he just huffed and opened his book again, those little page markers poking out as he turned to the page with a pink page mark and showed the exact line he had underlined with a black pen.
"Read this?" He had asked in an absolutely accusing voice that acutely reminded Yeonjun of his father.
Yeonjun squinted his eyes as he read the underlined words, it was something written with double inverted commas or it was definitely a dialogue but he decided to read the whole paragraph.
'Ella smiled as she delicately caressed the face of one she had learnt to love these past months, "Raymond," she had breathed out her lover's name with such delicacy that her tongue turned with a certain smoothness as every syllable rolled off it, "I don't ever think I'll ever see a sight as pretty as your smile. None of the beauty possessed by mother nature matches your existence, you, my love, are God's greatest creation." She said with such sincerity that even Raymond's heart threatened to galloping out of his chest.'
