Amy Rose's POV

I teased Sonic for a few minutes outside, laughing softly. I eventually smiled up at him, watching him look back down at me in return to return a smile as well. "It's 6:58 PM." Sonic reminded me, my emerald pearls blinking, realizing the time. "Right. You're right. I should be getting inside." I told him, before walking past him. I knew his own emerald orbs watched every step I took as I was starting to walk away, before slowly stopping in my tracks. My hands held on my purse's shoulder strap, starting to slowly turn my body around a bit. Enough to look at him. I smiled at him one final time, watching as he began to face me with a smile as well. Seeing his smile made my heart feel warm. He signaled me to go on with his hand, before inhaling briefly with a nod. I turned back around, starting to walk in front of the cookout place. But I stopped in front of it, my emerald orbs scanning the inside of the cookout. People continued to walk past me and walked inside, listening to the chattering and laughter from inside. All the noises began to blur, my grip tightening onto my purse's strap. I don't know why out of all times, I'm suddenly so nervous to walk in a place with big crowds of people. But I was. I suddenly felt an arm wrap around my right arm, my eyes widening and my ears perking up as I looked over to my side. It was Sonic. He smiled at me, making me exhale with relief as I slowly began to smile in return. My body finally relaxed, gently wrapping my arm around his in return.

He began to escort me into the cookout with me beside him, stepping inside exactly at 7 PM. The advised time Rouge instructed me to show up, with Sonic as well. "You know, I accidentally broke my mirror before I came here. I had to bury a piece so I wouldn't get bad luck." Sonic told me as I slightly busted out into laughter, bringing my free hand to cover my mouth to prevent my laughter from being so loud. The blue blur seemed to be calm as ever, my eyes slowly looking around the entire place. People just turned towards us, looking at us and whispering. Some smiling and welcoming us, and some admiring Sonic's presence. He was a big deal in Mobius after all. But something else made me feel warm inside. Maybe it was the fact that the hero of Mobius was locking his arm with mine currently. For the first time as well. Rouge noticed us as we walked in, peeking over everyone to make sure it was as she briefly squinted her eyes. When she finally realized it was us, she smiled excitedly and approached us quickly. "Sonic! Amy! You two made it!" exclaimed Rouge. I nodded with a smile, continuing to lock my arm around Sonic's. I didn't want to let go, and I wouldn't until he did. I think he had also felt the same way, or at least I hope so. Rouge noticed our arms locked with each other, giving me the look "I see what's happening here" to me. My eyes widened as my cheeks heated up, covering my face so that only Sonic couldn't see it as I happily nodded with a big, dorky smile. Rouge knew I was crazy for Sonic. Well, I didn't show it... like that. But she knew I liked him deeply.

Rouge pointed behind her, her other hand resting onto her hip. "You two didn't miss much. Knuckles being foolish as always had gotten his head on fire earlier, and almost poured a whole bottle of gasoline on him thinking it was water." The bat explained to us, Sonic giving the 'ouch' expression look and me nervously smiling as my ears briefly folded back as we both momentarily looked over at Tails bandaging Knuckles head. Knuckles just sitting there at the counter, looking furious and in pain at the same time. "Leave it up to Knuckles." Sonic chuckled, slowly shaking his head. Rouge sighed. "Tell me about it." She lowered her hand, before turning around a bit as she faced towards the table of food, the people standing at the grills that cooked the food, and Big The Cat. "Food's on the table. Big became a use today and surprisingly brought five coolers of fish." She explained to us. "Really? I thought he never caught a-" Sonic had begun saying, before I cut him off by roughly elbowing him in the rib. He had started to yelp before biting onto his tongue to remain quiet, a small bit of tears forming into his eyes as he closed them tightly. "Right. Proud of him." He said instead as I grinned softly with a nod of approval. Rouge put her hands together, causing a small, brief, clapping noise once she did. "Well, enjoy yourselves for the meantime." She suggested with a smile, before walking away with a wave.
