Silver The Hedgehog's POV

I was outside, running around and chasing after children as we all laughed and smiled in Crisis City. We were celebrating that night - everyone from my home town. I was playing with the children that had come up to me and asked to play tag with them. "I'm gonna get you!" I exclaimed, all of them playfully screaming and laughing. "Silver." I heard my name being called from behind. I stopped momentarily looking back to see who it was. It was Blaze, approaching me in her knight armor. Her hand rested onto the handle part of her sword that rested in its holder on her hip, fireworks beginning to be shot up into the air as everyone that surrounded us yelled and celebrated with joy. "The children seem to enjoy your company." Blaze spoke as she stopped in front of me, briefly eyeing the fireworks. "Sure they do! I'm a fun person to be around!" I said with a big smile, turning a bit to look at the fireworks as well. "The night is almost over. Allow me to take you home." Blaze offered. The kids ran back to Blaze and I, stopping behind me as I turned around to face them once I heard them. "Awe, are you leaving, Silver?" They asked. I knelt down onto my knee, giving them a soft smile. "Don't worry, guys! We can play some more tomorrow." I told them, watching their eyes light up. "Really?" I nodded. "I promise, and if plans come up, I'll take y'all to the beach with ice cream afterwards." I reassured them. They all yelled 'yay' before running off. I stood back up, smiling as I watched them run off. "The hero sure does have a mindset of a child." Blaze commented behind me as I turned towards her. "Hey, what's that supposed to mean!?" I whined. "Exactly what you're doing now." She answered with a sigh.

"Come on, before it gets too late." She commanded, before starting to walk off. I began to follow her from behind, hearing more fireworks shoot up in the air and the loud noises the large crowds around us made. Later that night we arrived at my home, specifically my mansion. I'd float around with a sigh as Blaze removed her sword holder from her waist, resting it against my wall. "You moping around won't help you get to sleep." Blaze said. "Why must you treat me like I'm a child?" I said, resting my hands behind my head as I remained floating in the air. My leg was rested onto the other. "Do you want me to lie, or be honest? I don't mind sparing your feelings." She replied while facing me. I mumbled, before noticing her starting to remove her armor. My face became red like a tomato, immediately standing onto my two feet again. "You're getting undressed now!? I'm not even re-" "Will you shut your mouth! I'm not undressing, you moron! I have my clothes beneath my armor." Blaze shouted. I sighed with relief. "Oh, thank god." I said. Blaze shook her head, placing all of her armor next to her sword, and her helmet right on top of it. She began to walk upstairs, her cat tail slightly swaying back and forth. "Come on." She commanded. I groaned, following her from behind yet again. When I got to my room, I'd sit down onto my bed. Blaze stood next to my window, looking out of it as fireworks continued to shoot into the air from a distance. I watched her, slowly kicking my feet back and forth.

"Blaze, is there... anything bothering you? You seem more tense tonight." I asked out of concern. "Honestly? I'm not sure." She began saying, slowly turning towards me. "Today, both my pyrokinesis and senses have been acting up. Earlier today, I couldn't even notice one of my own partners, a knight, approaching me during our little spar. The same knight who tried daily to scare me, but was caught by each attempt." She explained. "What are you saying, Blaze?" I asked her, slowly standing up. "I think something is going on in the present, Silver. Something dangerous with Sonic and the others." She answered, her orbs locked with mine. I could tell she had a worried, concerned look on her face as she told me. Without another word, she turned away. "But it could be just me as well. I must be getting weak, that's all." She said instead. She started to walk away to my door, my hand starting to reach for her, but stopped. I slowly turned towards her. "Blaze." I said to stop her. Which did momentarily work. "You're not weak. You've never been weak. If anything, you're the strongest knight our home has. Since day one we've partnered up, you've been more strong and loyal to your country and its people." I told her with a soft smile. "Thank you for telling me." I added. "I'm glad you trust me with this information, as much as I trust you with resting my life into your hands. Blaze made a slight chuckle, briefly looking back at me with a soft smile plastered across her lips. "Thank you, Silver. Get to bed now." She told me one final time, crossing her arms as I sat back down onto my bed. "Yeah, yeah. I get it, mom." I told her, before starting to pull the blankets back and laid down beneath them. Blaze lowered her arms and grabbed the door handle instead, starting to pull it shut while turning the light off. "Goodnight, hero." She said, before shutting the door.
