Screaming fans and squeaky shoes echo through the arena as the ball maneuvers around the court, falling into the hands of the New York Liberty players.

Sabrina dribbles the ball down the court as the opposite team gets into position to defend their hoop. Toni sits along the sideline with her mouth guard hanging from her mouth and hair up into a messy bun.

She can hear the fans a few rows behind her screaming for her attention but she keeps her eyes on the beauty across the area.

Cheryl.

For the first time in a long time, the redhead has attended one of the liberty games. But it's not because of her, no. It's because of Penelope and her beau. Micheal had purchased tickets to the game and offered for Cheryl to tag along.

The redhead didn't want to be rude and say no. So she agreed, and to dinner as well.

"I really have to work on saying no." the redhead murmurs to herself while she sits beside Micheal and Camden, who are both fixated on the game.

Cheryl's lack of interest in basketball grew over the two years she and Toni have been broken up. Well, at least she thinks so. Her mind tends to smother her with the memory of their first date.

How their giggles echoed through the empty, dimly lit, community center and how Toni's lips felt against hers for the very first time.

How the two of them fell in love without even realizing it.

BUZZZZZZ

The redhead shakes out of her thoughts at the blaring of the buzzer. Her green eyes met Camden's who offers her a knowing smirk. She reaches up to push their boy's head back playfully, earning a laugh from the younger boy and a smile from his father.

Micheal is so grateful that Dylan and Cheryl accepted his son with open arms. The three of them get along way better than he imagined they would when he first introduced them a while ago.

"You wanna go get a soft pretzel? I heard there is an auntie Anne in here." Micheal questions his son who shrugs. "What about you, Cheryl? You want one?"

"I'm alright, thank you, Micheal." she offers a kind smile. The man nods swiftly before getting up and going down the aisle with everyone else who is getting snacks for halftime.

Camden turns to look at the redhead adjacent to him only to see that she is once again deep in thought. He follows her line of sight and spots Toni, who is talking animatedly with Penelope and Sami.

"Why don't you go talk to her?" he breaks her away from her antagonizing mind. Cheryl turns her head to meet his hazel eyes with a sigh.

"I don't know. I mean, we spoke one time, and it was needed. But I feel like she'd rather keep her distance and I don't want to corner her."

"Eh, I wouldn't know a thing about it." Camden sighs. "But, I do know that sitting here and torturing yourself is worse."

"I know." the model sighs. "How is your summer vacation going?" she then changes the subject and her stepbrother allows it, which she is thankful for.

Micheal returns to his seat just as the game begins it's third quarter. Toni is on the court, filling in for DiDi.

The brunette runs her fingers through her hair before styling the strands up into a ponytail. Her golden brown eyes stare ahead at the scoreboard as Sabrina comes to stand beside her and Micheala goes to take the ball out.
