An Ember

Beth slowly started to wake up. She felt a hand on hers. She slowly opened her eyes. She saw Daryl fast asleep holding her hand. She took in her surroundings and saw that they were in a car. She was laying on the seat while Daryl was laying on the floor. She moved her other hand and put it on Daryl's head. Daryl felt her touch. He opened his eyes and yawned. Beth similes at him.
"Morning Mr.Dixon."
Daryl couldn't look away from her.
"I just can't believe you're here. After what happened at the hospital, I thought I would never see ya again."
"When was I at a hospital? The last thing I remember were walkers entering the funeral home."
Daryl was about to cry right in front of her. He's been through so much. Losing Beth at the funeral home, Terminus, Grady Memorial, and Beth getting shot in the head, right in front of him. Now he has to see Beth suffer from amnesia.
"Beth, you don't remember anything after that night."
"Well I woke up in the car, and then you showed up. It was just a her to grip Daryl and day gap Daryl."
"Try a week's gap Beth. You were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital after that night. You were tortured everyday there until I found ya. When I got there withe the others, the leader shot you in the head because you stabbed her in the chest with scissors. I thought I lost you." Daryl said pressing his head to her chest.
"Daryl, I did not get shot in the head, are you sure you weren't dreaming?" As soon as she said that,she felt automatic pain in her head. This caused her to grip Daryl tightly.
Daryl didn't mind her grip. The only thing he thought about was not feeling her touch again.
"You okay?" Daryl asked her.
"My head hearts," she said setting her face on his head.
"That was from the gunshot. We're gonna have to find some medicine for ya."
"So I did get shot in the head."
"Yes, and I have never been so scared in my life. I can't take it if I lost ya."
"Daryl, you know one day, I will be gone. I just got lucky."
"Yeah, but I'm gonna make sure you'll survive longer than I do. You said I'll be the last man standing, you'll be the last woman standing. I'll make sure of it."
