As morning broke over the red tiled roofs of the city of Emon, Vox Machina and Yin were marching up the long set of steps to the castle. It was a rather impressive view from this high over the city, though Yin was wondering why someone would build the castle so dang high, but at least he wasn't as worn out as most of the party members given he wasn't nearly as inebriated.

"We're really gonna see the sovereign looking like this?" Keyleth asked as they crested the final step to the large double doors to the keep.  Yin glanced around at them. Most of them did seem a little haggard given the events of a few hours ago in the middle of the night.

"I mean it seems they're pretty desperate for help," Yin shrugged, "Hopefully state of dress shouldn't be a problem."

Once they'd gotten close enough to the doors, the two guards in front crossed their spears in front of the entrance and one held up a hand, ordering, "Halt!"

Vex reached into one of the pouches on her belt, taking out a balled up a piece of paper. She unfurled it and held up the 'Wanted' poster to the guards with a smirk. The two armored men glanced at each other before removing their spears from the doorway.

"Okay, we'll take you in," the guard that spoke before declared, "But the bear waits outside."

Trinket bowed his head in sadness at that. As the party walked to the now opening doors, Vex cupped the bear's face in her hands affectionately and said, "It's okay, buddy. We'll be back soon."

Still, as they walked inside, the large furry bear let out a sad sound and sat back on its haunches.

The interior of the throne room was incredible. Yin had never been in such an elaborate place before; it was a massive circular room with windows that nearly reached three quarters of the way to the many stories tall ceiling. Some alcoves of trees and bushes spotted the marble floor and the upper are where the throne resided. The group gathered in an area just below the raised throne area, where it seemed a group of the council members of the city were conversing with Sovereign Uriel. Yin could barely hear them mentioning 'Whitestone' and a message about the attacks.

Keyleth tried to get their attention with a couple shouts of "Excuse me," but it seemed the distance from the council's height and their conversing meant they weren't hearing her.

And then Grog opened his mouth and—

*BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURP!*

His massive belch reverberated everywhere within the space, echoing throughout the massive chamber. The sound caught the attention of everyone in the room, including the council members who turned around to glare at the group. The one that was stage right relative to Vox Machina was a dark skinned halfling in plate armor who put her hands on her hips and asked, "I'm sorry, who the hell are you?"

"Vox Machina," Percy stepped forward and adjusted his glasses, likely trying to salvage the situation, "You see, it's actually a somewhat clever play on words—"

The creepy-looking drow councilor struck down the introduction, "Honestly, we don't care."

He continued as the councilors spread out a bit, revealing the Sovereign standing behind him. The drow continued, "Sire, I warned you the notices would attract the scum of Emon..."

"Hey! That's rude," Yin crossed his arms and glared.

The stalwart blonde knight to Uriel's left spoke up as the Sovereign sat back down on his through, "I think Sir Fince means a foe this lethal and dangerous requires a more seasoned—"
