You and James were currently driving in his car on your way to the park. You guys were taking Pete, Jame's dog, and you were going to have a picnic. You all had packed up a basket with a blanket for you to sit on. Your lunch was some sandwiches and chips with a cold soda. Pete was sitting on your lap while James was driving.
"Almost there pete." James said, moving his hand to pet the small dog. After he petted his dog he placed his hand on my knee. I laced my fingers with his as he continued to drive to the park. When we finally arrived at the park I started running with Pete, leaving James behind. He laughed at us and grabbed the basket and blanket. Me and Pete had found a nice sunny spot and laid in the grass while the small dog cuddled into my side, waiting for my boyfriend. When he found us he smiled and watched us cuddle in the grass together.
"Boo" he said standing above me.
"Oh no please a knight in shining armor come save me please." I said, maybe a little too dramatically. He laughed and rolled out the blanket, sitting down. I sat down next to him and leaned my head on his shoulder.
"Ready for food?" he asked, going to grab the basket.
"In a minute. Let's enjoy this." I said, closing my eyes as he wrapped an arm around my waist and placed a kiss on my forehead. Pete snuggled into James's lap as well all just sat and enjoyed the company and peacefulness of nature. I heard James's stomach make a noise.
"Hungry?" i asked
"Just a little," he said. I grabbed the basket and pulled out our sandwiches, chips, and soda. We ate and had a little food fight. We wiped it off into the grass.
"I have a little surprise." he said, turning to the basket and pulling out a box. He opened it and inside were chocolate covered strawberries. I gasped and said
"When did you sneak these in here?"
"When you weren't looking" he smirked. He grabbed one and held it near my face as I took a bite from the fruit. He almost dropped it until I caught it.
"Thank you." he said
"No problem." I smiled. We began to feed each other strawberries until they were gone. We packed everything up and put it back in the trunk before he grabbed my hand and started pulling me down a walk way.
"Where are we going?" i asked
"On a walk" he said. We walked with Pete and hand in hand until we saw some really pretty flower bushes. I walked over and smelled them, my sense relaxing as I did so. James began to pick some and made a small bouquet.
"Flowers for the pretty girl." he said, handing me the bunch of flowers.
"Thank you." I said, stepping closer to him. He grabbed my hand softly and lifted it above my head and twirled me slowly all while smiling down at me. When i was faced towards him once again he said
"I love you."
"I love you too." i said, placing my hand, that didn't hold the flowers, on his cheek. We both leaned in and shared a soft kiss. When we parted we just stared at each other for a couple minutes. We were brought out of our movie-like love scene when Pete began to bark and jump up on James's leg. He picked the small dog up and grabbed my hand as we walked back to his car. We held hands the whole way to my house. After James dropped me off he started to pull out and drive back to his house.
"Pete, I'm gonna marry her one day." he said to the dog, who had no understanding of what he said and with that he drove himself home.
