"It's sure a cold one out today, you sure you're gonna be alright in this weather Tails?"
A gruff voice called through out the chilling winds that tossed quills and fur, heavy footsteps crunching through the snow as a certain red echidna climbed his way up the flight of stairs that were adjacent to the workshop. Sonic poked his around the corner of the garage, a mischievous grin curling around his muzzle as he spotted his old friend.
"Your winter coat hasn't even began to grow in, considering our recent tangle up..
Will you be warm enough to make it out of Station Square?" Knuckles continued as he finally trudged around the corner, only for a snowball to explode over his forehead which drew a shout from the warrior.

A growl arose from Knuckles, slapping the snow off himself as he dropped the burlap sack he was carrying; eyebrows furrowing as a furious purple gaze caught the green stare of the perpetrator, and oh the look Sonic had on his face only fueled his irritation.
Sonic had his hip propped against the frame of the garage, a snarky grin that showed all his mocking teeth, a playful glint in his eyes as he tossed a freshly made snowball in his hand, rearing his arm back and pelting it right onto Knuckles's muzzle.

A cry of rage was pulled from the warrior, muttering curses under his breath as he haunched over, scooping up piles of snow into his mitts and packing them into a snowball that was easily the size of a watermelon.
"Since you wanna play games Sonic let's play!"
Knuckles pulled his strong arm behind his head, Sonic gawked at the size of the snowball as he began to rush through the snow, laughter sounding from the hedgehog.
His cackling was quickly silenced and replaced with a sharp gasp and the dull crunch of snow exploding upon impact, followed by the thud and groan of a defeated Sonic hitting the ground.

Knuckles stood proud over his hit, nodding to himself as the quick spur of anger washed over him as soon as the snow hit Sonic, now he was the one laughing as he waded through the powdered ground, reaching down and snatching the blue hedgehog onto his feet.
Sonic returned Knuckles's gesture with a sharp glare.
"What?! Don't look at me like that! You're the one who started it!"

Sonic huffed, shaking the snow off his fur with his glare quickly melting into a few more chuckles, making sure to sling some of the cold droplets that melted onto Knuckles.
"Yeah, Yeah! Good to see you too Knucklehead!"

The guardian rolled his eyes, snatching the forgotten bag up and over his shoulder as he took another look at his surroundings, eyebrow arching as he searched for a certain two-tailed fox.
"You're not exactly who I'm here for. Say, where's Tails at? Shouldn't he be here, y'know, getting ready to take off on his own little trip?"

Sonic answered with a shrug, copying Knuckles's head gestures as he too began to search the premises.
The echidna's eyebrow arched higher, hand on his hip as looked Sonic up and down, waiting for the next part of his answer.
"Annnd... anything else?"

"Dunno, he ran off about 10 minutes ago, said he still had some business to take care of, told me to watch the Tornado until he got back."
Sonic turned back to face Knuckles, jabbing his thumb towards the pristine looking plane that sat idle in the warm garage.
"So I've been waiting here since. What's in the bag by the way, late Christmas gifts?"

Knuckles snorted as he shouldered over to the edge of the garage, knocking the snow off the soles of his boots before stepping inside.
"Something like that, I guess. I remembered you telling me about his trip coming soon, so I thought I'd pack him a few essentials for the road."

Knuckles let out a surprised yelp as Sonic wedged himself against the echidna's shoulder, trying to sneak a peek into the draw string bag.

"Cut it out! It's not for you anyway!"

"A little peek won't kill you, besides it's not like you got some super secret project in here!"
