Chapter Nine

                          Cygnus POV
         I was lying face down in my pillow, on the verge of tears due to my encounter with the spawn of satan in homeroom when I heard two people laughing and my door open. The laughter stopped.
         "Cyg? You okay?" It was Cipher. That made me realize the other laugh was Rio's. I had hoped I wouldn't run into him since I skipped lacrosse practice today.
          "Seriously man, you haven't skipped a practice since we were freshmen and you got chewed out by Coach."
          "I'm fine guys, seriously. Nothings wrong."
          "Yeah I don't believe that" they said in unison. Side affects of dating for 2 years. You get to know someone's brain.
           "Well," I said, "Rivalen tried to talk to me in homeroom"
            "That bastard, I'll kill him!" Cipher yelled.
            "Babe," Rio interjects, "shouldn't we at least hear what he said to Cygnus? What if it wasn't that bad?"
            "Blue, I know that you always see the best in people, and I love that about you, but Rivalen is a cheating, lying, asshole son of bitch. Everything he says is 'that bad'"

                           Rio's POV
             Don't get me wrong, I love my boyfriend. We've been dating for 2 years. He deals with my rants about my special interests. Though I guess he signed up for that when he started dating someone autistic. Most people are shocked when they learn I'm autistic, but that's only because I've gotten so good at masking. My parents didn't believe the doctor when they said I needed to get tested, or that the tests had concluded I had autism. I was their oldest, their golden child, the one who helped take care of the other 4 kids. 2 boys and 2 girls, And they're quadruplets, which meant 4 kids going through terrible 2's at the same time. Sergio, Camilo, Mariposa, and Tatiana are my entire life. I love them more than I love myself.
              Sorry. Ranting.
              Anyway, I love Ci, but he seems to assume one occurrence equals someone's personality. If Cygnus stayed with Rivalen for that long, over 1 1/2 years ,he can't be that awful, right?
              Then there was a knock at the door.

                       Cygnus POV
              I rushed from my room, avoiding the conversation about Rivalen and Gabriel, and opened the front door. There stood the other person I wasn't ready to see.
             "Hey," Dom said, "Can we talk?"
             "Sure."
             "Wanna walk?"
              Dammit, Dom! You know I find it easier to talk in nature.
               We left the house in complete silence, both of us reaching for the words to say.
                After walking for about 10 minutes I realized that Dom had led me to our spot. That meant this was serious.
                "Look Cygnus. I really like you and I probably should've told you, but it scared me. I thought I was straight, and that made sense when we were younger and I wanted to hold your hand, but now we're older and you've finally transitioned, but my feelings didn't change. I was confused and so I just didn't say anything. I feel awful for not telling you but I didn't know how, because you're you. You're amazing, and confident, and shockingly handsome, and you're a damn good lacrosse player. Me, I'm just a dorky, 6'3, Basketball player, who is awful with feelings."
I looked at him, and the only thing I could say was "Woah..."
He looked back and we made eye contact.
"I like you too Dom, though I don't have a big speech."
That made him laugh, the most amazing sound I had ever heard. He grabbed my hand and kissed my knuckles.
"I, Dominyk Arion Maron, would like to officially ask you, Cygnus James Patterson, to go on a date with me."
"Hmm..." I said. "Why do we have to go on a date? I'd really rather just skip that part."
"Was that you asking me to be your boyfriend?" He teased.
"Yes it was." I wasn't teasing, I was entirely serious.
I could tell he sensed that.
"Of course I'll be your boyfriend, CJ." And then he pulled me close to him and kissed my head.

Flashback
Dominyk, Cipher, Cami, and I were running around my backyard playing tag. I was it.
I tagged Dominyk and he yelled "Oh you're gonna pay for that!"
Cami yelled to me.
"—RUN!" (A/N "—" means Cyg's dead name. The reason I didn't write it or even give him one is because he blocked that name from his brain.)
I laughed as Dom chased after me, not being able to catch up to me due to my speed. When he finally tagged me, I fell over and accidentally tripped him. He fell on top of me. It's only now, as I'm remembering this do I notice the blush on his face as he rolls off. Guess he has like me for a while...

Hi! So I'm in the car driving back to my house rn so I finally had some spare time after the holidays! Hope y'all enjoy the confession finally. And I hope you enjoyed learning about Rio and his family. Also Cipher calls Rio "Blue" because of the movie "Rio"
